CNBC stock picking show defrauded by contestants

Can you blame them? Is that what you're after? Don't take it personal, your post just made me think.

    Solar Panels so expensive

Cost of silicon is rising, due to supply shortages. Recent research at Georgia Tech holds some promise of increases in efficiency. Wind is another clean technology that holds promise, in localized areas.

Goldman's Global Alpha Hedge Fund Falls 3.4% Since Start of '07

There was an article in Bloomberg magazine a few months back about their plans to turn this thing around. When they get this big, it takes time.

Wondering if someone can help develop my candlestick strategy...

If you can master exits EVERYTIME, congrats, you have found the holy grail. Please let me know when you figure that one out. Please read "Trading in the Zone" by Douglas. Then read it a second time. NOTE: There's even a reference in that book to a study done a while back on a system with...

Single, Capitalized and wanting to get started

First, go listen to Baz Luhrman's Everybodys Free (To Wear Sunscreen). Second, put the $200K in a high-yield savings account. There are several on the web that are paying 4+%. Third, begin exploring. Figure out why you would want to do this. Keep a diary and write down your thoughts. Yes...

    Interactive Brokers vs. Vonage

I'm cheap. Okay, I said it. I've had Vonage for years. Battled connectivity problems (ISP's fault, not Vonage). Have had periodic problems with Vonage. I can't sometimes get to my Voicemail. Their marketing website zooms along, but log in and be prepared for dial-up speeds. I'm thinking...

How do you get short this China Bubble

My prediction: Market will drop a lot. Probably over a couple of days. Not many will notice, as many see it as a buying opportunity. Bulls will push markets higher, but momentum will slow. Markets will drop a lot again. Bulls will try to push it higher, but not get there. Market will...

Amaranth's Brian Hunter to launch new Hedge Fund

You're entitled to your opinion, here's mine: We have enough laws. If you're willing to give up control of your own money to let someone else manage it, then you can expect to do well based on historical performance. You can also expect to take on more risk than putting it in a savings...

    Atlanta Traders

I'll be there at 11:30. I'll tell whoever is working that if someone confesses to be a daytrader, point them to where I'm at. I prefer the enclosed patio, but if the playground is full of kids, I may sit inside to avoid them. Kidinrestaurantophobia. -John

    Trading Journal Metrics

I'm building my trading journal, but wanted to ask the ET community what they use for metrics? What formulas do you use for "keeping score"? Do you use the Sharpe ratio? And if so, how (i.e. do you compare the number over time, or compare yourself to others)? How do you measure your...

This is due to a bad programming practice in some javascript code. Nothing to be worried about (besides that you're using a mail client that has bad programmers on their staff). "No! No! No! Bad Form!" -Hook
