    Why support becomes resistance

There are plenty of guys that would turn down 300K on the street to stay independent. I don't think there was ever a point in my life where I would have been tempted by that type of 300k offer ... even 30 or 40 years ago when that was awfully big money. BTW ... a consistent net 2 points a day...

    Why support becomes resistance

Just like Woodward and Bernstein we, who believe the charts really do tell us all we need to know, are attempting to follow the money. I, for one, don't believe it is possible or neccessary to extract motivations fro most market moves. The fact that it has moved in a particular fashion is enough.

Trading Shell Corporation for Taxation Purposes (35% vs 39.6%)

You treat giving up your citizenship as if it is meerly an accounting issue; run the numbers and the spread sheet will tell all -- all you need to know to make what for most Americans would be a momentous decision. Some of us -- I'll wager most of us -- will opt to pay the taxes and remain...

    Martingale?

Over the years I have had many people tell me that while Martingale is the wrong way to trade it works well if you are trading ABC or if you use spreads or if, if, if. There are no valid if's when it comes to doubling down on your losers because you think there is some mathematical magic in...

Trading Shell Corporation for Taxation Purposes (35% vs 39.6%)

I'm not suggesting you will want to live lavishly but most who can earn real returns decide to live well. You can't possibly plan to live on less than $100,000 a year for very long if you are in a big city or say $75,000 in less expensive areas. The edge here, if there is one, is pretty modest,

Trading Shell Corporation for Taxation Purposes (35% vs 39.6%)

There is no edge here and in fact there is every chance that you will end up with a bunch of money tied up in the corporation and subject to another round of taxation to get it out.

MFGlobal & PFG Best, we're rooked without your help

Please understanding I am not a pro-Crzine guy and, if I had money at risk, I might have written exactly as you have. But the reality is his liberty is at stake and he will -- as we all would -- try to position himself to avoid doing time. Have the seperately segregated "30" account been...

    Martingale?

The entire point about Martingale is everyone who tries it gets it to work out. And it works out again the next day and the next and the next ... until the day comes when you need to trade 16 or 32 or 64 contracts (whatever level scares you) to get out and you balls shrivel up and you don't do...

    Bitcoin thread anyone?

This is not bitcoin advice (I have no idea where price will head) but general advice. If you let yourself get so excited by anything that you are willing to "take the bull by the horns" with very large chunks of your capital you will end up gored and, as you try-- in desperation to get even --...

    This seems very ominous

I'm not taking any issue at all with the fact that that group privides information ... potentially valuable information during a turn in sentiment. I only take issue with any contention that they represent the heavyweight division. The cumulative weight of 50 or so of the largest cap stocks...

    This seems very ominous

Read: http: //www.amazon.com/Reminiscences-Stock-Operator-Wiley-Trading/dp/1592801943 to put yourself in touch with reality not what you make up about markets. BTW, I'm not suggesting that the common stocks of smaller companies and how they move are irrelevent ... every piece of the...

    This seems very ominous

I've been seeing him talk about IWM not making new highs so I plugged it into Google to find out it is the Russel. C'mon man, don't confuse the fly weight division with the heavy weights. But I must admit the concept of the CEO making lunch for everyone is new to me!!!

    What good is the DOM?

I have bookmarked the thread and will come back to it as it seems a serious attempt to create a valuable tool or methodology. That said I have never been able to make much sense of it and, despite a significant amount of observation have neve been able to make a single cent from it. I look...

If You Trade One Instrument Only, How Do You Deal With This?

My max CL position is three contracts so size is, unfortunately, not an issue for me. I'm curious as to the point that traders believe CL becomes problematic for a day trader -- 5, 10 or more contracts?

If You Trade One Instrument Only, How Do You Deal With This?

I'm sure every CL trader longs for those days when it regularly moved two handles and better during RTH. Yet, even when the daily range is more or less the same as ES, some traders have learned and become comfortable with CL and the move to ES (or for many/most of us the move back to ES) holds...

What are the drivers of oil price?

Gasoline price movements in any given country -- it's up 22% from last year or down 8% in the last two months relate to crude pricing. But the levels the prices are at -- call it the base -- have nothing to do with the pice per barrel of crude. Like cigarettes, booze etc. the base depends on...
