Interactive Brokers margins(in general) are high. Much better to trade thru a firm like Mirus, Amp, Dorman, Velocity, they offer lower margins. But as any experienced trader will tell you, overnight margins are almost always higher than during day hours.

In a normal moving market I deal with .50 - 1.00 tick slippage trading ES( 125-200 lots per trade, but i break them down to smaller orders which helps me combat slippage a lil. Just wish Ninja would offer more order types for breaking down larger sizes, they dont even offer the common iceberg order.

Work for a prop firm for what? Work with your own money and plenty of leverage offered by a futures direct access firm. The when you get good at it...you manage other ppls accts. That what I did. Doesnt get any better than that....
