OneChicago seems to be not as bad as they were in the beginning about going down. It would be nice if the Single Stock Futures could all trade like the E-minis around the clock. You can get 10 minute snapshots from OneChicago during the day for free. They list other sources for market data on...

    Poker and the Beginning Trader

Credit cards are accepted by the casinos, but the credit cards won't approve the transactions. The government runs gambling (lottery), and encourages casinos to promote tax revenue. But it's still supposed to be illegal. They have to put the casinos on "Indian" reservations, because...

The stocks I mentioned MXIM, QLGC, QCOM, KLAC, NVLS have daily ranges of about $1-$1.80 average. QQQ has daily ranges of about 40¢-70¢. I think you have a better chance of making money trading these other stocks than the QQQ.

Falling Down, And Getting Back Up Again.

Whatever else anyone wants to say about it, Lundy's story is probably the most epic on here. The title of this thread says it all. It seems that Lundy is getting up again. If he succeeds, he will be a monument and possible inspiration to us all about the ability to rise from the ashes. Our...

Average % return for profitable traders

I kind of think the original point of the thread actually was perhaps to compare the rates of return between daytraders and swingtraders. I do think the ability to hold positions overnight is useful, you can't always be absolutely perfect in your timing, but patience is a real virtue in...

Average % return for profitable traders

Illiquid is right. Let's say you start with $3,000. Enough to be able to hold 1 NQ contract overnight if you have to. If you make 3 points profit per day, that's 15 points per week = $300. That's 10%. When you reach $5,000, if you increase to 2 contracts per trade, or increase to 5 points...

In fact, I believe that Christopher Reeve, John Denver, John Kennedy, Jason Priestly, and probably the other two ski-klutzes as well, are/were nice guys. But they got themselves wrecked up by taking risks that the rest of us might not, partly because we don't have the time and money for these...

Companies that would benefit from casino expansion

This post is not directed at you, but just my thoughts in general on the topic: There's something really wrong with this picture though. States have to boost their budgets by sucking money out of people who are already paying taxes, and in some cases desperate enough to get money due to...

    money equals happiness ???

These people who buy houses just to tear them down get to me. Especially when they're older houses with their own personal histories. And the new things they put up in their place are usually ugly. There are plenty of people in the superrich category complaining about their malaise, they go...
