Mathematical goals I guess are nice...but what creates those earnings is where I would be focused on. The increased earnings should come from better edge implementation.

I went to where I saw edge..( bank robber saw money in the bank to steal)in the bad months I clearly could not exploit anything well...maybe there was money there but I fumbled with my getaway.

I have disagreed (objectively correct I might add) with Mac...but here I agree with him very much so. He should not share his edge if he does not want to...why would anyone give a hard fought edge away for free? Sharing ideas is one thing, but Strats that work year over year should not be given...

I did horrible in the last 3 months.. Ultra low vol is part of it.. But I did some stupid trades too. I echo Rallymode sentiment. I like high vol but not too high although late 2008 and 2009 were my best years in percentage terms. Give me 15 to 30 vix and i'll be thrilled.

i hate to start threads and i have little intention of posting as much as last year unless the quality improves..but with D08's blessing i offer to start 2013 p/l yesterday p/l was a 2 month old swing trade...if not for +36 spx i doubt it would have been so much : +$103,024

trader 2012 performance best month was march @ +23.19% worst was may @ -2.39%. struggled also oct -2.37%, nov was -.08%, dec was +1.37% of course i have optimism for 2013; and good luck to other fellow traders. happy new year. frank

ok..today was +$34,000 friday not posted was -5k i will post 2012 stats when ib releases them...but suffice to say dollar wise it was a good year; even with the poor last quarter.

If u really have said YM..why not just swing the position..consider adding on defined spots surely you can take the heat. In any case, I'm long the market and taking the heat..good luck if you are really trading.

Surf, if price drivers were a real edge you would not be yapping on et about them. You have to be paid to be here to entertain us. you simply cannot be for real I have concluded..other than real entertainment. This thread should move to chit chat..for clear reasons.
