    Unholy Grail to Success

Actually, Mr. Spit, experienced traders know that the main moves in a security tend to occur about 2 hours after the open and 2 hours before the close. That leaves 3 hours during the middle of the day that represent lower volume, higher risk trading. Just because the security didn't make...

    Unholy Grail to Success

Actually, traders have known this for almost a hundred years. That's why mathematicians use wave and chaos theory in an attempt to decipher its rhythms. You really shouldn't try to take credit for these ideas. You might be able to fool the newbies on ET, but not me. I'm a veteran.

Are you asking how much the retracement amount is or what you're supposed to do during the two hours while you wait for the move? Estimating the retracement amount depends on what type of strategy you employ. It can be a general 50% retracement or a calculation based on pivot points, Gann...

I draw a crap load of lines, will it work?

TraderZones means that the OP is cherry picking charts to illustrate his thesis. In reality, there are thousands of historical situations where the stock has gone up, gone down, or moved sideways from where those lines converged like in his samples. All of those clever lines are just...

Depends on your trading style. If speed of order entry, fast executions and stability is most important, my picks are Lightspeed and Anvil.

    $500/day

You don't understand my point. My approach is to MAKE ONE GOOD TRADE AT A TIME. I don't think about making as much money as possible. I will accept whatever the market gives me each day. Setting a daily P&L goal clouds your judgement and will negatively affect your trading. You will start...

I draw a crap load of lines, will it work?

Just because I don't go overboard with the trend lines doesn't mean I'm three steps behind the OP. Don't underestimate the power of simplicity.

I draw a crap load of lines, will it work?

The problem with having too many lines is that you create too many potential entry points. If you stick to a few major trendlines, then you will have fewer but stronger entry and exit signals. It will prevent overtrading and information paralysis. Plus you will retain your sanity.

    $500/day

If you create a cap on your day of $500, you'll never progress to the next level. Instead, focus on making one good trade at a time. Stick with your trading system. The money will follow. Don't pay attention to your P&L (unless you're negative, of course). If you continue to focus on your...

No matter how you dress up shit, it still stinks.

I draw a crap load of lines, will it work?

These charts would give me a serious case of analysis paralysis! It would take hours to draw those trendlines and being a daytrader, I would have missed the optimal entry points. Whatever happened to the K.I.S.S. style of trading?

The next Jesse Livermore, Dimitri Balyasny and Dan Zanger: Atilla Demiray

Three good months does NOT a career make! Let's not prostrate ourselves and extol his virtues. He's been pretty much short for the past three months. Not much rocket science there! Let's see a full year's numbers before comparing him to the trading giants!

If you're young, pay attention to Madoff.

Hmm...how do I go about starting a Ponzi hedge fund? Hypothetically, of course?

Madoff says losses of 50 Billion!

Maybe not as far as liquidation of securities but it will definitely shake the faith of investors' in the hedge fund system. This eroding of confidence will have far reaching consequences in the form of redemptions across many funds.

Madoff says losses of 50 Billion!

Many rich Jews from Palm Beach and New York City were totally wiped out as well as Jewish charitable organizations. Was Bernie Madoff a closet anti-semite?
