    NYSE Scalping

Easy. They're either newbies who are scared and want to lock in profits or it's someone caught wrong the other way and wants to uptick/downtick the stock in his favor. ______________________________ For Every Buyer, There's A Seller!

    Golden Market Management

Not affiliated with them. My nom de plume came from the famous 80's chop socky kung-fu flick, "The Kid with the Golden Arm". As far as the sliding scale, I believe that if your net profit for the month is $10K or less, you get 35%. The 50% kicks in when you reach around $40K net for the month.

    Golden Market Management

The deal is that all pass-thrus are paid by the trader. These come out to be around 0.35 cents/share and 1.5 cents/share for bullets. The payout percentage ranges from 35%-50% depending on the trader reaching certain performance levels. They trade out of E*Trade Professional Canada. It's a...

Is it possible to "JUST" tape-read

When I refer to tape reading, I don't mean the Level 2 Time and Sales, which includes executions against the Specialist, other exchanges and ECNs. I find the T&S to be too fast and frenetic for many stocks and there's too much extraneous information. This makes pure tape reading of T&S less...

Is it possible to "JUST" tape-read

I know traders who can trade exclusively from the tape and a stock ticker page and be profitable. But adding charts to the mix makes things easier since you don't have to memorize all of the prices and support/resistance levels.

    trade one stock only?

It worked for me for awhile, but the problem is that many people get married to a stock even when it's stopped having meaningful moves. They end up churning themselves in commissions because of a stubborn belief that they can continue to milk the same stock for profits. You can't keep taking...

Lots of monitors just to show off?

I'd rather give my money to a guy in his pajamas with one monitor and a 60% annual return over the past ten years than a slick MIT math whiz in a Savile Row suit with twenty monitors and a 3% annual return.

Lots of monitors just to show off?

If you can't make money with 2 monitors, then all the extra monitors won't help one bit. It's pretty much overkill.

Lots of monitors just to show off?

The number of monitors should be commensurate to your P&L. If you make less than $1-2K a day (gross) then you only need 2 monitors. Heavy hitters that trade different baskets of stocks need to keep track of different indices, hence the need for 3 or more monitors. Most daytraders really only...

Unless you have the bluest chip credentials (i.e., the proper social connections or top of your Ivy League class) or a super trading record with multi-million dollar portfolios at a top-notch firm (daytrading firms don't count), don't even THINK of sending them a resume!
