Software Used to Trade Jack Hershey Methods

Here is QuoteTracker paintbar code to color bars based on if the bar had a higher high or lower low irrespective of the close. Inside bars and Outside bars are ignored and painted by QT. I shared this code with Avi 8 after he posted his chart on Friday and noticed that he was treading those...

Software Used to Trade Jack Hershey Methods

Here is a chart posted by a Peak Pro user http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/attachment.php?s=&postid=1774896 Maybe older version. I know Spydertrader has mentioned a couple of companies coming out with new charting software pretty soon, going by what you have seen in the magazine they are...

Jack Hershey – MACD and Stochastics helpers for 123 and FTT's

There is a Full Stochastic in QT. You have to use that.

Yes, when you have a FTT on the slower fractal (daily) you will also have a FTT on the faster fractals (30 min, 5 min etc). However every FTT on the 30 min is NOT going to be a FTT on the daily fractal - As the daily goes through a traverse, the 30min will go through one or more cycles where...

Backfill on Daily Interval. I usually to 500 days, however the rank scan looks for 5 cycles in 6 months (~20 trading days a month) 150 days should do be sufficient.

Software Used to Trade Jack Hershey Methods

Hi, I use IB with QT & Amibroker. I have never experienced a problem with QT backfill and volume bars. In fact the bars compare very well with Amibroker. You can use QT paintbars to indicate the ftb/fpb etc. The only issue I have found with QT is the annotation. Copying lines, text and...

Did you replace BTJ with BOLT in your final universe or did you remove it. If you did remove it, I am curious as the reasons. BOLT with data from its time as BTJ still has rank. Thanks

Thanks. Just wanted to make sure I understood the rules as I plan to do this playing back the 4-5 days I have saved.

Ivo, are you making this decision before the bar closes? Because sometimes the bar can run back higher right before the close.

lj, I am not sure what you are talking about. - There was no FBP with bar 1 & 2 today - Bar 3 is not LH & LL. My previous post has the first 4 bars for the day. You might want to post a chart so that we see what you are referring to.

Re. Drill: Taking for example the first 4 bars from today. Enter short at bar 2 and hold until bar 4 close to exit? Thanks <img src="http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/attachment.php?s=&postid=1753117">

Spyder a couple of questions regarding the drill from last week. a) if we have a open position and the next bar starts showing decreasing PRV do we exit or wait for the close of bar to determine final volume exit. b) In the case of an outside bar, should we reverse the position when price...

That I don't know. I try not to predict which BO will succeed etc. I try to get clues from the price action but I am not good at this yet. Sometimes I get a feeling the BO will fail and often does, but I still haven't been able to put a finger as to exactly what makes me to expect the FBO.

c & e are pennant BOs. d is not a BO since it did not clear the high of the prior bar. I would agree with your statement except to note that I would add "b" to the lateral movement category instead of lateral formation.

    Iterative Refinement

Well if it breaks out with increasing volume everything is fine however in some cases that is not the case. - Sometimes price breaks out of the formation on low volume and the increasing volume comes once price has moved away from the formation. - Spyder has also mentioned how lateral...

Here are a few scenarios I have drawn (based on the recent discussions). I marked b & c as lateral movement because the last bar cleared the high of the formation bar 1. Please let me know if I am wrong.

    Iterative Refinement

Spyder, When you have 3 bars that form both a lateral formation and a pennant how do you treat them? Do you regard them only as a lateral formation or do you also consider them as pennants as well when you consider the possible what must come next scenarios? <img...

Spyder, I am quoting this sentence from the following post in September and I wanted to get clarification on the section in red. http://tinyurl.com/3xt9j7 "However, none of this matters until Price breaks out of the formation (and the High / Low of the previous bar)". By the...
