Trying to understand how this is possible...

Or maybe (this is just an assumption) you are seeing "last price" on these thinly traded leveraged ETF's...hence, without that bid-ask data and assuming these things might not trade for long stretches of time, you're not getting the true market mid-price.

    Benefits of back ratio

Why not simply chart the differences? Grab a napkin if need be and draw the graph at various strike prices (granted it will only give you an idea at expiration), you'll need some software to see how the curve gets steeper the closer you get to expiration. There is the "pin risk" of selling the...

    So profound, mind blowing.

Why Is The Obvious Not So Obvious?

wtfauoa and Galvin Lee are cut from the same cloth. What I find particularly ironic is that wtfauoa repeats the same platitudes ad nauseam (particularly the one about not listening to others...i.e. why should anyone listen to him)...It's par for the course around here.

hmm...so you probably turned 16 back around 78? Everyone knows Olivia reached peak hotness in Grease.

    Hard Stop loss

That sounds more like a Yogi Berra-ism.

    Hard Stop loss

Absolutely right. Trade an options spread with a worst case scenario equal to your stop. Limits the upside, absolutely, but the number of people who churn themselves to death with tight stops is enormous.

I like GLD at this level

I find that there is almost no value in reading the financial press "forecasts". Maybe as a contrarian indicator as I've mentioned in other threads (i.e. when the "titan's" tell everyone they are "bullish" this or "bearish" that, it's usually a fade, as they are seeking to herd the lemmings to...

Colin Kaepernick Refuses to Stand During National Anthem

He is/was a "one trick pony" that thrived for a short time in Harbaugh's offensive trickery a few years back. Then the league made its adjustments and this guy has been in steady decline.

I like GLD at this level

Yes, the spike high open on 12/30 was the gift for underwater longs to get out at decent prices, especially in GDX. Comparing GLD/GDX at this point from a year ago is that many, many longs got onboard in 2016 believing it was set to make a move akin to a decade ago. In late 2015, GLD has been...

To what extent does gut feeling/instincts/intuition serve in your trading?

A lot of truth there...the biggest obstacle is believing in your own eyes, intuition and experience. Even people who have been around this rodeo for decades can doubt themselves at times or the phrase "it's different this time" comes to mind...Plus, the longer you've been around this game, the...

I believe GLD will take out last year's lows and then start it's climb sometime around March.

    Your stock picks for 2017

I believe IWM will drop roughly 40% in the coming year. I'm positioned for that possibility.
