    APEX Clearing

MBT website is still showing trading stocks, futures, and options from a single universal customer account. That is obviously outdated information since the selling of the futures trading part of Apex's business to Knight.

    Why is there no inflation?

Oldtime, When was "the last one"? I can remember in the late 70's early 80's buying CD's that peaked at somewhere around 18% to 20%. My savings and salary increases could not keep up with the price inflation. I had a 7.75% home mortgage loan for which my bank was offering me a larger and larger...

    Another tax

It would be far simpler for the seller and the buyer for the seller to collect and pay the sales tax of the seller's location.

QuoteTracker To Be Finished End of 2011

Barata, I have QT spread out over 12 monitors with 2 charts to a screen and each chart uses 1/2 of each screen. I can minimize any charts and then restore. Each chart restores to the same size and location as prior to minimizing. You must be asking QT to do something other than what I am doing.

I am running QT on Windows 2000 and I do not recall ever having such a problem.

Even Jim Rogers knows about the trillions of dollars pumping the markets higher!

When inflation takes hold and interest rates head up the stock markets will tank and the US dollar will loose a large percentage of it's purchasing power. In the late 70s early 80s I was buying CDs paying an annual rate as high as 18% interest. Sometime within the next 10 years, I expect...

Why were Cyprus bank accounts taxed and not have austerity measures done instead?

What you say makes sense to me. It seems that politics and protecting "fat cats" almost always gets in the way of letting financial institutions go bankrupt.

Wow. EU steals 10% of bank deposits in exchange for bailout

The attempts to tax depositors bank deposits has me thinking the safest countries for depositors with large cash bank accounts would be within Switzerland, Canada, and Australia.

Those responsible for the decision to take the Russian mobs money could now be on the Russian mob's hit list. Things could get a lot uglier than depositors savings being confiscated.

    Stop Review spamming

I some times see what you are saying. However, clients of brokers often change their opinion about a broker with more time of use and may want to update their rating and review of a broker. Would allowing only one update-able rating and review for each broker per ET user meet your needs? In...

    Interactive Brokers TWS Bug Thread

TWS chart bug started by upgrading form TWS 933.5 to TWS 935.3. My TWS main page window and TWS chart windows are sized and positioned on my monitor screen so they overlap with a portion of each TWS window shows at all times. This allows me to mouse click on the visible part of any window to...

    Unofficial TWS bug thread

I have been unable to access Account Management through TWS for the last three days. I do not know if this is a bug or an intentional change by IB.

I also plan to drop MS Windows and use Linux when QT no longer functions with windows 2000. Hopefully the Medved Trader will work using "Mono" within Linux.

    Lightspeed vs. Interactive Brokers

You are correct on IB's "all-in" fee plan. IB also has financial strength and is well managed to provide the best in protection of clients funds.

Put together 12 Monitor System but need help managing them

I have been running 12 monitors on three Matrox quad cards using the matrox supplied drivers for the cards. I have been using this setup for about 12 years and it has worked flawlessly. Monitor 5 is stretched horizontally across two monitors and Monitor 9 is also stretched across two monitors...

    Switching to Interactive Brokers

IB has a $10 per month market data fee for each month in which you have less than $30 in commissions. You can close odd lot positions but as I remember you cannot place opening odd lot orders. As for IB, I have had an account with IB for 12 years and consider IB to be the best of the best for...

    Interactive Brokers - Please help!

I think the minimum is $3000 to open an individual account for someone 26 or younger in age. The OP may have been aware of that as he mentioned he was less than 26 years of age.

    Interactive Brokers - Please help!

IB will look at your application to see what you show for your annual income, and your years of experience in trading the products for which you are requesting trading privileges. I do not think IB will check your credit history or contact your employer. For the products you plan to trade you...

Is IB in deep poo too?

Ben Bernanke's policies may be helping some sectors but it is at the expense of other sectors which he is killing. The small to mid size financial firms and brokers are within what he is killing.

Is IB in deep poo too?

I think the low interest rate squeeze has significantly lowered the earnings of most brokers and clearing firms. The broker and clearing firm reports I have read from prior to 2007 often showed the firms were earning more from their cut of the interest received than from commissions.
