Is it possible to trade the emini Indexes without looking at the price of Oil?

I use T bonds as well. They often break several minutes before ES/ER2, and always give me an early heads up when they do. They are like crude, strong negative correlation to equities.

    Firms in San Diego

Damn there are a lot of traders here in SD. Wonder if its cause traders can live anywhere they wish? Anyway, not sure about prop here, but I am going to that meet and greet with Don Bright on Aug 20th simply to see how many SD traders show up. Thinking of opening an office myself, but only as...

assuming you make money from trading, buy Robert Green's book on Trader's Taxes. It covers everything.

Is it possible to trade the emini Indexes without looking at the price of Oil?

of course it is. the technicals you choose, if they have worked in the past for you, will probably setup the same. they will probably setup with oil though (opposite in price). personally, I have crude running in a small window at all times. have for about a year.

    Samsung 245bw

best buy also has big screens on sale. They have a 25.5" Westinghouse, 1920 res, for $379. don't know anything about the monitor but usually retails for $499. give it a few months and i bet all of them come down in price as they are becoming more mainstream. even laptops can run them...

What platform are you using with your IB account?

volume charts, yes. several months of historical, no. But it will allow you to download other historical for free. I use ensign with IB, but my historical comes from DTN for free. its all seamless in that i do not have to get the historical separately. Once configured, its automatic. Works...

Do futures brokers offer ACH transfer?

all depends on the policy of the firms you are dealing with. A wire requires the receiving firm to physical inspect the transaction, so the firm obviously feels secure about guaranteeing it. It is physically slower though. iIdo not know about others, but for me, an ACH is always available to...

    Boiler Rooms

No it isn't. You have the newb brokers that have to cold call to build a book, but the vast majority is managing accounts in which they do not charge any commission. The entire industry is moving this direction, except for the online discount brokers. I used to be a broker, an have several...

Do futures brokers offer ACH transfer?

correct. an ACH should be faster than a wire. it all depends on the firm sending it however. If they are both sent at the same time, the ACH is nearly instantaneous, or so my bank tells me. its just dependent on when it is keyed into the system, and how the bank on the other end figures current...

    The "recession" that never happened.

hardly any economists subscribe to the 2 quarters negative growth thing cause it doesn't tell you you've had a recession until its nearly over. they look at jobs, retail sales etc. That said, final numbers for Q4 GDP 2007 are now negative, and it is expected Q1 and Q2 2008 will be revised...

Senate to end preferential tax for commodities?

So very true. Most people don't understand that without liquidity, prices would be higher across the board for most items, not to mention the nightmares that business would have with obtaining supplies without disruption.
