I still like the ER2 and the NQ best for a starting out trader...good price movements and decent liquidity.

Are the pros really much better then retail traders?

Not surprised by this..........making it by your own means ONLY is a very narrow street with minimal traffic.

    Opentick data

I use it realtime with a NinjaTrader charting app and it is decent...it is not the best for realtime work but it is just fine for checking out various market info during the day. I use this so i do not have to have additional paid for feeds on multiple pc's I use.

    NQ is nasty mofo

Roger Felton is a great guy - I highly recommend him and his system. I even use some of his signals when I trade stocks like I did today.

Best "realtime" Quote Data for NYSE $Tick

DTN.IQ has the best TICK reporting speed versus most of the others (TS, Esig, Realtick, CQG, etc).

Cygnus E Transactions (CYGT) and Sykes/Cilantro Demise

Very true! Excellent post pointing out what so many do not pay attention to in their own trading. When a trader starts thinking "they" already have it all figured out..........watch out!

Best Broker For Intraday Index Futures Trading???

I think Zen is a proprietary feed from Dorman...so that should answer your question. Spike Trading is good with NT6 and TT feed.

    Esignal bid/ask volume .efs

I have seen that before but I need the volume analysis tool to work in Esignal only (for a specific need I have)...thanks.

    Esignal bid/ask volume .efs

I looked at that too, but it is not set up like a "difference" indication...just the two separate data sets as histogram bars. I guess I can just modify that language to what I need if I do not find anything else (like a line or candlestick representation of the bid/ask difference per bar).

    E-mini russell 2000 leaving CME

From the guy at the CME who developed the ER2, there will probably be some new products that will come into prominence going forward...so you may not have to chase the Russell onto the ICE.

    newbie futures question..

No...one account with two DOM's. One DOM for convenience showing the front month and your other DOM on the other contract. You can enter trades in both contracts from the same account. If you are going to start trading in both directions at the same time in the SAME contract (same contract...

DOM ACV and bid/ask WALL used tgether

ES is one of the best for ACV (well, DAX and ER2 are pretty good too) due to the TYPE of trading done by the commercial traders that use those products.
