Depends on what you are looking at. Primary Hyperfeed and ILX. Secondary RT and REDI

    IB's Front End Software

What does anything you said have to do with the guy’s original question? If you are happy with their data you should use it. The basic thing is speed of quotes, without that you have nothing. Unless you have some secret I do not know about; if you are trying to hit a market and your...

    IB's Front End Software

Try PCQuote, Real Tick, Redi, Esignal; consoldate the quote and pick the fastest. We do that for back-up quotes. They all have their problems and latency in different conditions. The point is IB is not the top of the list.

The only one talking about Hyperfeed is you.

If the quote is delayed and there is a better source for the information; the delayed quote sucks ... You cannot trade off of old quotes.

    IB's Front End Software

The question the guy asked was about NAS equities, what does that have to do with 1,2,4 or 5? All data providers have problems, IB gets backlogged, i.e. delayed in a fast market. You brought up Hyperfeed , not me; and it is a lot more than marginally faster.

    IB's Front End Software

What exactly is misleading? All you have to do is put a couple of feeds up side by side, link them to a spread sheet if you have that feature, compare the quote speed by picking some common feature, i.e. total volume, log the results and pick the winner. It is not IB. And yes, Hyperfeed is...

    What are some good brokers.

This is a serious statement, not a wise crack; I retract all of those recommendations. You need to read everything you can and get a basic understanding before proceeding.

What I said is maybe you should open an account with Interactive Brokers and trade S&P E-minis.

Trade one S&P E-mini, you will have the margin. Now you can do that @ IB.

    IB's Front End Software

The really suck compared to that, but I was referring to some of the retail feeds. We use to have traders poking around on TWS with a side by side feed for comparision; in a fast market IB was usually the laggard. Are you still interested in off-shore? I was approached by some guys setting up...

Save up and you really need $25K +. That is why I suggested TN instead of IB; if you had experience I would have suggested IB, better commisions, but no hand holding.

It is just not the right interface or place for what you are talking about.

Neither one, for a beginner that wants to do a lot of trades; IB won't support you enough, and the other one is not a good place to learn high volume trading.

    Off shore trading

You probably shouldn't put those guys on the top of your list. Most books are outdated or not focused enough; the big accounting firms will advise you for serious money. Send me a PM if you want to talk about it.
