You won’t get much benefit by updating a 775 socket. If you really want to upgrade you should get a new Motherboard with a LGA 1155 socket. I have been using a Intel Socket 775 Quad core 2.4 G Overclocked at 3.25 G for many years – it is more then enough for trading.

Got it to work out. Very confusing but once it was all in Turbo Tx the gain /loss calculations came out correct. Simple solution for 2012 , no trading of anything that might create a wash sle in December !!

I am an accountant so I understand how wash sales are calculated. My report is just plain wrong – I sent IB a ticket so rather than going through the time to find out what they did wrong I will see what they say after looking at my 8949.

They do not have an option to filter out the Wash Sales. In prior years this report was clean and would tie into the 1099. I only trade 5 different stocks . My gain loss summary was a total mess with all the wash sale bs .
