May I ask why you are mainly trading the Aussie? Are you trading the spot or the futures?

I hope we break out of these ranges and get a nice smooth trending day. We'll have quite a few numbers coming out later today.

Yes, indeed the futures volume is very small compared to the Interbank volume. But still I find it useful in determining the strength of a pullback or pullup. I don't use the T&S that much but I chart the volume using my own indicators.

No, it wasn't Neal. I tried to get through Neal's door as a janitor but he didn't even want that :)

Exactly. Everything looks good on paper. But mix in real-time data flowing and couple of whipsaws and before you know, I'm clicking the mouse like a machine gun.

I ended up meeting a hedge fund manager this weekend by pure coincidence at my club! I'll meet with him and his staff later this week. I'm not going in for an "official" interview but he wanted to see my resume and meet with his team. Something interesting might come out of this.

Hey Gringinho, are you talking with you scalper or position trader hat on :) Lately, I'm working in two time-frames (my adaptive MAs). I try to decipher which one to follow as the trade progresses. I might enter with one of them and then trail with the other. As the market twists and turns...

Unbelievable! Now it's full-steam ahead running up again. I was knocking my head on the wall for exiting my short and going long earlier. The deadliest mistake in this business is to fall in love with your position or a certain direction! Edit: Little bit earlier, I was tempted to take...

Well, I managed to turn my P&L into a pinata today. I exited short early and went long. Eventually I went long from low 50s. I lost my ability to trail my positions properly again!

It became a bad habit for me, although it's not useful for my style of trading. Early summer, the ratio of bids/asks was an OK sign of short-term direction.

Gringinho, or is it you flashing these 300+ lot orders like a strobe-light :) I'm finally riding the short but the inital damage was bigger than comfortable level while trying to short this thing. Edit: It looks like I don't need to perform harakiri today. Although it's still early!

They filled up the bid now! its about 800/400 bid/ask. Multiple 300+ levels on the bid side. I should start completely ignoring the book.

Well if this thing spikes up from the 1.33 again, I'll perform harakiri on myself :)

Yes, especially when the train keeps coming in hard, takes you out and then starts reversing!

The pattern for tight shorts is terrible here. It spikes up and then immediately pulls back. It's a slow death. I got caught in it several times!!!

Nice prediction. Did you get in short from ATH levels? I got stopped out and then reshorted .

I'm short now with tight stops. I'm not getting very clear signals from volume though at this price level--we're stuck in this small range for now.

I also think that a top is forming here. But I wouldn't place too much bet on it.

Ivanovich good luck. The futures book gets quite chaotic during these releases. It's usually extremely thin but a while ago I remember seeing 10,000+ contracts on one side of the book! Plus we have this new trading patterns emerging so I think there might be special tricks developed for...
