CNBC's Fast Money - pulling a FAST ONE

The show it not that bad. It is television we all know. I went to a taping and impressed how long it takes to make the thing ... alot longer than 1 hour. Please note to all that has lost money trading off of the boobtube. STOP IT!

    New trader

At least you are doing something productive vs what most people are doing at 20. Why didn't start earlier? Stay in the market and get experience you will figure it out. Good luck! P.S. Don't forget about short term capital gain taxes at the end of the year.

    Odd lot theory

From watching days/weeks of T/S sales the odd lot theory does not carry much weight. The only times that it warrants attention when the order size is significant. i.e. 134 vs. 56,431 shares being traded.

    Randomness (and Emergence)

Running some design of experiment studies on the market/stocks will always show that the market is not random. It only appears to be random because all pertinent data has not been factored into the equation, including the human one which still can be predicted to a high degree of certainty...

    Tax Cheats out of control

If it is not spent this causes a budget surplus and less money will be automatically be allocated next period. I can't blame anyone for taking advantage of the current tax code. Charity is not the name of the game.

    gm alliance - i don't get it...

    (Why) do most traders lose?

I agree the day should start at 5:00am and end at 11:30pm for the first five years for a new trader. Long term persistence pays off. Total immersion in the market for 6 months of just paper trading will pick up alot of simple mistakes before actual money is involved.

    Minimum Wage

Raising the minimum wage would give the government an automatic increase in income. Why wouldn't they want more money to spend.

Does everyone have CNBC turned on while trading ?

They are for Contrarian trading. "GM's going to 30" automatic short "POZN took a heavy loss" buy long for the quick bounce They usually give stocks the kiss of death. I do like early morning coverage on the Internatioinal markets 5:00-700 AM EST.
