Is this what trading is like?

As a pro trader running a business, you should feel totally comfortable putting the majority of your networth into your trading. Try putting yourself in the mindset of a pro. How would your behavior change if all your money was in your trading account, and trading was your only possible source...

Is this what trading is like?

farmerjohn1324 is an odd fellow. The way he writes his posts, he sounds intelligent. However he trades like a complete retard, oblivious to the concepts of risk and edge. He doesn't learn either from others or from his own mistakes. I'm thinking he's not really interested in trading to make...

    I'm in disbelief about USD

USD has had a range of less than 1.5% in the last two weeks, and you almost got a margin call? Holy cow dude, just how much leverage are you using?

How much time does it take to have consistently positive trading results?

Yeah I think we were talking past eachother a bit then. What you're saying is basically that you could teach someone to trade in 2 weeks, assuming you already had a profitable strategy that was simple enough for them to learn. Okay, fair enough I guess. My thinking is this isn't really...

How much time does it take to have consistently positive trading results?

Let's say I'm a new trader and I find your strategy description online, along with a thousand others that are all unprofitable nonsense. How am I supposed to figure out that yours is the good one and start trading it in 2 weeks? This is exactly the situation that most newbs find themselves in...

INTC seems overbought and overvalued and under pressure

There has been a big rotation out of growth stocks into value stocks going on recently. INTC is a value stock, AMD is a growth stock. As long as this continues, expect INTC to outperform regardless of fundamentals.

How much time does it take to have consistently positive trading results?

Appreciate the reply, but most of this detail is somewhat besides the point. How do you know about such strategy? And more importantly how do you know it's profitable? (I'd wager it isn't, actually). Do you think a lot of people could answer that question in 2 weeks starting from zero trading...

How much time does it take to have consistently positive trading results?

What are some examples of "conventional" profitable trading strategies? I'm honestly not aware of any such thing.

How much time does it take to have consistently positive trading results?

Where on earth do you get this number from? Were YOU profitable in 2 weeks? Such a ludicrous assertion I think this is probably a troll. You'll get lots of replies anyways :D My take: Unless you have a very low bar for your definition of profitable, no way. Buy and hold SPY doesn't count here...

C++ concurrent data structure for fast retrieval

Here's the real answer: You don't actually have any such requirement. Surprised no one figured it out after 4 pages.

How much time does it take to have consistently positive trading results?

Honestly, I think prop could be a great option for you if you are as good as you claim to be. A "straight line up" equity curve sounds like it can withstand quite a bit of leverage. Not sure what you are talking about with initial fees or only trading a tiny portion of the account. There are...

Margin Account Interest Rates Fee Calculation - Day Trading Stocks

Yes, I think I understand the confusion now. You are using the word margin in a different sense. You are just talking about any transaction in the account where something is used as collateral. When I talk about "margin loans", what I am referring to is literally borrowing cash from the broker...

How much time does it take to have consistently positive trading results?

You wonder why people don't find you convincing, and then when I try to explain the reason, your response is to argue all my points. This makes sense actually. In your mind, you are already doing everything right, and this is why you are confused by your lack of success.. C2 could be a way to...

I'm back. Hopefully better and more realistic.

If the house has an edge even against statistically perfect play, then by definition any money you made in playing it was pure luck.. ?? You say it's not irrelevant, but I'm pretty sure it is totally irrelevant. Markets have zilch to do with blackjack. Jim Simons didn't lose money in...

How much time does it take to have consistently positive trading results?

Because they know how to sell, and you don't. Spend a few days thinking about how your stuff comes across to other people. You need to present something convincing and easy to understand. I've looked at your thread, and immediately decided that it's not worth my time. Where is the equity...

Margin Account Interest Rates Fee Calculation - Day Trading Stocks

Not what I said at all... :( My point was 1) the collateral doesn't need to be cash and 2) it has nothing to do with margin loans. How about you give it a try right now? I've been trading equity L/S since 2014 and I can tell you this works just fine with no margin loan.

does iwm trade for 24 hours?

I love gaps. They're my bread and butter. If the market only traded once per day in a single auction I think that'd be like.. the best thing ever. How else could you interact with all possible liquidity without being HFT?

does iwm trade for 24 hours?

What is the problem, exactly? Please explain. How would 24/7 trading improve your life? In fact, I could easily argue the opposite. 6.5 hour day is too long. Most of the volume is in the first 30 mins and last 30 mins anways, so the middle of the day is "nothing but a joke". Time for some...

does iwm trade for 24 hours?

Please no. Some of us like sleep. It is great that the market is closed most of the time and we can rest easy knowing nothing can go wrong until the next open.
