There's also such a thing as a "saturated market". When there's a mcdonalds on every corner of the street, sure some people will be able to more or less profitably run another new mcdonalds, if they try long and hard enough. But there will sure be better ways to make a lot of money!

I have good contacts with a Chinese former college buddy. He says he can produce *anything* for low cost I ask him too. If I were into producing tangible stuff, i'd have a nice competitive advantage i suppose, which is good for me, and my country :)

my first winner i have no clue, probably some long call option in the 90s. my first real winner: RMBS in mid 2000 was going up up up during that time. some day afterhours i saw one stock i didn't know 9RMBS) moving up from below, or low 100s to 110, 120 etc. i shorted 100 shares at 115 or so...
