    Swing Trade Play 11/11/05

I wonder if this would work in intraday trading. You'll have to be real fast on the keys that's for sure ;-) . I think it could work, but it will be a little less efficient because there is less opportunity for replacing etc. especially in tight range or runaway markets. I have to close all...

more you want it - lesser of your chances

It seems to me you are more interested in the glamour than in the real work. been there done that, the glamour gets tired after you've seen it for a while. as i said, i would be happy now just sitting on the beach with a rod. disclaimer: i can't afford the glamour anymore anyway ;-)

there are two kind of motivations: push and pull motivation. push motivation: i don't want a normal job. i just want to get rich quick. pull motivation: I am ready to do anything to get ahead, but trading is the coolest thing i can imagine. In my first year, my motivation was pull...

    Anyone skip the middle-man?

I don't myself, but i know people who do for futures. Through Fortis for instance. It's not as difficult as you sound it to be.

    Extended Trading Hours

i think it's a good decision. US hours are the most active hours for about everything. This way European and US businesses can come together same place, same time.

    Predicting randomness

Allow me to disagree. A position trader has no need to be as accurate to the tick as a daytrader. Therefore a position trader has just as high of a chance to make a profitable prediction as a daytrader. edit: actually i am referring to something you didn't say, but still i'd like to make the...

Will IB ever offer pit access for futures? I thought they were going to if they got

IB would lose my respect to large extent if they offer pit futures. I bet the operation required would suck up so much money, that IB wouldn't be able to offer clients the trading fees for electronic trading as they could without having an operation up for pit trading.

can you daily trade efficiently futures with this adsl speed?

satellite has the worst latency. i suppose your adsl is not terrific, but if you try to optimize your data flow, it might work just fine.

    better not take losses

I hear some alegedly better discretionary traders talk about how cutting losses short ie. setting stoplosses is not the right thing to do. They said they rather work the position until it's profitable before getting out. Could some of these traders enlighten me how?

Are there any Lady Traders on ET? How do you trade, what are your strategies?

Come on, the answer is easy. why would any woman want to start a hedgefund? It's stressful work with an uncertain outcome and the only rewards are more money and the building of an empire. Typically men's goals.
