Top prop firm to top MBA?

Do not be fooled by the clever marketing. If you have been a trader, most other jobs feel dull. Really interesting people: Maybe study art, philosophy or physics instead, not business (just my opinion). Business schools seem to attract people from the same mold, even though they pretend not to.

Specialize and concentrate on 1-2 pair

I think it is better to not limit yourself too much. Obviously there are pros and cons to every approach. If you really do in depth analysis, then limit yourself, but I do no think this is something that many people are able to do.

Anybody else short US 30 Bond

I got out of my last part of my short which i had on for 2 weeks. Actually on advice of Warren Buffet ;-). Looks like in the short term it will not go much lower, just watching technicals. Probably best to stay out of it for a while.

Yes, it is true, quite a nice businessmodel too. Almost zero commissions, payed for by a cut of profits. Allthough commissions outside US/Canada are too high imo.

    Why is there no inflation?

Skimming through the posts I haven't read the correct answer, which is: The effect of the FED increasing money supply is being mitigated by overall deleveraging in the economy after the debt bubble. For a good primer read the Bridgewater research section.

    Advice for a Beginner Programmer

If you haven't tried python yet, it's a lot more fun. To the OP, esignal provides you with some ready made spreadsheet setup, so you just plug it in and you can manipulate real time formulas in excel (winros it is called), it is really neat.

Cities for starting a prop firm/hedge fund?

Border issue might be solved by parking in Spain and taking a cab on the other side. Some beautiful (gated) communities to live in on the coast. Nearest big city (Seville or Malaga) is a few hours drive though. World class (wind)surfing sites nearby (Tarifa). I would go for it.

wh$$ is going on with this market!? can't take it anymore!! help!

A long time ago market just kept going up and I only shorted, covered, shorted, covered for, for gains not worth the effort. I complained about it to a very wise man. His answer was a retorical question: "Why don't you go long?". That totally changed my game and level of profits.

Hello there, Used to trade professionally, but have been out of the markets for a couple of years. In my time during the 2000s have seen the market going through some interesting changes. So how is it now? What is in play now at the various prop firms?
