Thanks for your feedback. May I ask which exchanges/markets you're trading? And, do you use J-Trader or some 3rd party front-end (Ninja, Trademaven etc)? Also, how you deal with the fact that some exchanges don't support native stops (e.g. eCBOT)? so your stops for YM eminiDOW would be...

    BEST J-TRADER FEED around

bump Any other opinions which of the FCMs from the list http://www.patsystems.com/OurClients/index.cfm?fuseaction=OurClients&ALPHABET=AtoM offer good PATS systems (of their own)? And at the same time offer competitive fees ? It looks like the options are: RCG GHCO Man/GNI Refco...

    YM Traders

Two trades: 1/ Long ~10460, exit ~10505 (+45ticks) 2/ Short 10508. exit 10513 (-5ticks) this one was supposed to be a quick trade, smaller size, YM traded @ profit tgt 10498, but I got no fill.

Seth, to answer your question, last few weeks I watch european markets and when they close, I move over to US ones. This is why I had no YM trades before 13:30 EST.

The Ultimate DAX Scalping Discussion Thread!

Despite the fact that I live in Europe, I've only started trading Eurex a few weeks ago. So my experience is rather limited. Since my feed of Eurex (via Esignal and IB) are apparently "snapshot" feeds, I find those 3-4tick spikes on "no trades/volume" a bit strange. Same as with Bund. 1/...

    YM Traders

3 trades: Long ~10465, exit ~10515 (including partial exiting and re-entry), (+50ticks) Short ~10523, quick to stopout (-5ticks) Attempt again at Short ~10518 and scaled-out on the way down (+15ticks)

What could go wrong with Treasury scalping? Or other types of scalping?

Loss of only 3-4 ticks during NEWS? On news, very often ZB (you didn't specify, but I assume you trade ZB, not ZN) will spike and whipsaw hard. Since you're trading via IB, remember that eCBOT has no native stops and those are simulated by IB. I've often experienced 1tick slippage during dull...

    Middle class revolt

I agree with dddooo's views. Just because many people in US can make a living nowadays by non-productive jobs (e.g. RE broker), due to the TEMPORARY "kindness of strangers" (for as long as it suits them), it doesn't mean that this situation is sustainable over time. And the hollowing of US...

Why 72 Hrs Before Hurricans Landfall $ Strengthen

I don't want to sound obnoxious, but this reminds me the rumors that "Osama has been caught" everytime the S&P rallied back in 2003.

Why 72 Hrs Before Hurricans Landfall $ Strengthen

Ivan, is there a (official) source for any real info about the tax-free profit repatriation? The info from Goldman and Lehman is very suspect, as afterall these are the #1 manipulators of world markets and I wouldn't believe a single word from them. If anything, one could achieve success...

Why 72 Hrs Before Hurricans Landfall $ Strengthen

"Don't fight the Fed" as in US bond yields at 50yr lows and Greenspan's "conundrum"? Where the big man himself is wondering why long rates won't follow short term ones?

    IB Suggestions & Improvements

For the last 4 weeks or so (maybe more) I've been noticing a DELAY (sometimes very high 5-15sec) to confirm order ENTRY or CANCELLATION. Not everytime, but often enough for me to notice. E.g. today I tried to cancel a resting limit order in Eurex and the order status remained uncofirmed...

    Middle class revolt

The wealth-transfer in favor of the elite, that has taken place during the BushCo years in US is truly mind-boggling. Predatory companies like ExxonMobil and GoldmanSachs in 2005 just reported their biggest earnings EVER in history. At the same time, the "middle class" in US is loaded with...

Futures Prop and the Currency Markets

With the exception of Eur/USD, I've found all other pairs to be very thin outside of US RTH, with 5-10pip "mini-spikes" being quite common. Also, I would be very careful with overnight stops in CME forex, because Globex stops are visible. E.g. in GBP I've had a stop gunned 60pip (!!!) away...

short USD, long EUR and CHF

As you correctly pointed out, those tax-free profit repatriation is the most significant factor in forex nowadays. Nevertheless, in most cases, those funds are already in USD (won't need to be converted from other currencies to USD, just wired back to US).

    The Ultimate Scalping Setup (HW&SW)

The issue with Internet routing, is that geographical proximity doesn't necessarily equate network proximity. E.g. in my case, although I'm in Europe, my ISP routes all international traffic via Alternet (a big ISP in US), so my ping times to IB gw in Europe (CH) are between 80ms and 250ms...

    Bund conundrum?

Just a quick followup: US bonds have sold off quite impressively, after the expiration short-squeeze (June scenario all over) Yet, EU bonds, have barely budged (-0.5%) from multi-decade highs (yield lows) reached last last week. Sofar for Bund, the "resistance" of 122.60-70 on charts...

Change the tick increment in ES from 0.25 to 0.1

Let me try once more: The idea behind this thread is to have CME just use the SAME tick increment for ES, as with pit SP, i.e. trade in increments of 0.1 rather than 0.25. ES multiplier could stay the same, apparently ~$50-60k contract value seems to accomodate most traders In such...
