They've probably worked the bugs out of them by now - it was the market delta stuff that they were trying to use. At the time they didn't find md to provide the edge they were expecting.
What sort of trade time lengths do you find delta to be useful for and (generally) how do you use it / is...
The simple answer is that you can do it. SC has a pretty complete interface to C++ so you can do anything and do it fast. You can also create synthetic charts and can map one to another so you can probably emulate most irt stuff.
Funny thing about all that irt stuff is I wonder how many...
A few months back when I noticed vol dropping on everything else. Looked at HSI and it had become manageable again.
I use IB data as a feed. With Sierra Chart you can combine true data and live data so that you get the best of both - a true up to the millisecond (100) close and corrections...
Thanks for the suggestion about turning off charts. I've switched them off just in case it could affect me.
Agreed re using a front end. I like Sierra Chart but Ninja and Ensign are other sound alternatives.
TWS itself is a good backup if you catastrophically lost your charting and order...
Mine's good (890.6 on java 1.6.0_13) although I almost never enter orders via TWS direct interfaces (orders from Sierra Chart). Never seen delays via the api. I also lost money on the drop yesterday ... went long and then 1:30 later it was all bad.
Michael?
Seriously, why in a million years would you expect a master trader to also be capable of writing a useful book on trading psychology? Even being able to figure out what it is about themselves from within their own frame is asking too much I suspect.
As harsh as it sounds, old people and toddlers dying of this flu probably won't hurt the market much. As they say, medical statistics are people with the tears wiped away and tears won't kill the economy.
The real cause for fear coming from Mexico was the reports that many deaths were in the...
You have to know that when its confirmed that one of the US cases is from Mexico it will be level 5. And when one of the European ones is confirmed from Mexico it will hit level 6.
Level 6 is only a sneeze away.
Most of us who live in the Asian time zone wait until 7am in London to trade forex. Even JPY products are better behaved in European times.
If you want to trade our times then (in approx order of opening) have a look at:
SPI (aus)
Nikkei (incl the minis and in Osaka or Singapore)
KOSPI...
LOL.
I expect that Port and I will see each other as different characters in your play.
I still stand by the "Port is a moron" view. It doesn't have to be IB either ... for him to draw "run on a banker" conclusions from a chart is simply moronic.
The reason I post on IB is that I know...
The drivers for new lows are still here.
You guys might have dumped some of your debt but in places like Aus its loaded up and every fool is out buying houses with special government grants. And consumer confidence is sky high.
Lemmings, joyous, heading to you know where (and recession...
This is one of those forever discussions.
I have in the past attempted to help one or two traders remotely and stopped. Mainly because, when you can't look over someones shoulder, you need a lot more systematic work to sort out issues. Too much for me. I agree with Mandelbrotset.
Why...
Even though I'm a keen firefox 3.6 user I have to support microsoft to this extent: its not spam when you reply to a thread about your product with clear identification and not too much marketing bs. So, in this case, a+ to microsoft.
Try Sierra Chart ... it has a lot of functionality in this area and they are developing actively at present so if you needed changes they might well make them.
Although you are on the HK server, if you look at your ip connections you'll see that you pick up us data from the us server. So when it drops you will see that data disappear although the hk supported data remains active.
