Read cnms2's reference threads. Many system traders seem to chant a mantra of big win/loss ratio NOT % winners. I think that this may be a reaction to systems with a high % winners that have been promoted by scammers or overly optimistic system designers, which had too small a profit factor...

Given makeup of CCI ... just look for price to be closing below the 50 simple ma to achieve the same result.

Peter, Any general advice you'd be willing to share on daytrading strategies for the options would be wonderful. Also, any little tricks you are aware of - most markets I have traded have had little traps for the new players :-)

Agreed re the poll. Meaningless sample and sample process. Agreed also about the Market (ECN) vs Bucket Shop. A great bucket shop may be as good, or by charitably keeping spreads tighter than the real market even better than a market ... but ... they are motivated to be at least a little...

Agree about all the fast and free of junk stuff ... but the quickest service restoration is having my key software also running on one of the kids machines (with dial up in case the broadband goes down). No service contract. Nice self constructed pc for performance and price. 3-15 minutes...

Two issues: the calculations have a number of errors (i think u can find details at trader2traders site). the premise is bet big with a small account and wind back when the account is big. Trouble is that this prescription = "bet big when you are new and make lots of errors...

The book isn't good either - its full of mistakes (if you check :-)) and the basic premise is also a scam.

As with everything else its going to take some watching to determine workable trading strategies. I plan to look at a trend (micro) based day trading strategy using 1 or 2 strikes OTM and see how it performs. No stops I suspect and maybe some scaling in. Hold overnight would seem to have...
