    Long straddle

If the stock is at 47 and you buy the 45 straddle you are in essence bullish. If you buy the 50 straddle you are bearish. Your other option is to buy a strangle which would be to buy the 45 put and the 50 call. The reason most straddle "lose money" is because the breakeven point can...

    IB Charts - upgrade requests

More time periods. Meaning, Allow 1,3,5,10, 15 minute charts for 10 days. Allow 15 minute for a month. Allow 1 hour for 6 months. I like your idea of adjusting the size of volume. IB Charts take up a ton of display space.

    Percentile Data

Where can I find a list of options with their IV & the percentile. I usually get the data from http://www.optionstrategist.com/free/analysis/data/index.html but his data is the IV of only the front month option. I need a list that either can give me 2 month IV or an avg of 1st & 2nd...

    IV before Earnings Season

Im sorry, I didnt mean that I entered the trade three months ago. I meant to say just because there was an IV spike last quarter does it mean this quarter will also have one. I am thinking that maybe an IV spike only happens when the last quarter had an increase in real volatility...

    IV before Earnings Season

One more thought / question. Take a company like DNA. Its IV ran up in Sept - Oct from 23 to 33. Then nothing really happened by the earnings release so does that mean this quarter we should expect it to rise again to 33 or will the IV rise only slightly. Another example would be...

    NMX Options

What does the option picture for NMX tell you and what is a limited risk strategy for an option picture like NMX? I know I call sell the puts but i usually prefer verticals spreads so my risk is defined. I personally dont have a strong feeling up or down on the stock but I am more looking at...

    IV before Earnings Season

It could be that the IV chart is showing front month and the IV rise only happens once the front month is the month of the earnings release? For example, The Jan options are staying flat because the earnings announcement will be lets say Jan 30th, after they expire. It is really the Feb...
