Bottom line, are they worth the hassles they cause?

    Sensory Defensiveness/Hypersensitivity

Anything that can be posted for the rest of us? I have trouble with certain sound stimuli, and more general things like excessive motion or height. I find restaurants extremely annoying and can't sleep unless there is total dead silence. Feels a bit like a curse sometimes. Never knew there was a...

WHAT is the main reason to use interactive brokers?

I echo the sentiments of OldTrader, have had little to no problems with CS. The main advantages I see with IB are: - safety of funds - reasonable margin rates - good fills (I trade index futures mostly, fills at top/bottom tick of pivot not uncommon) The main disadvantages are...

    ES Journal Archive (2009 - 2010)

I don't know, to me the last 3 days' 8:30 moves seemed like very normal reactions to GDP and employment numbers, and not necessarily some conspiracy. In any case, I'm sure the answer to your question of "who" would be the usuals .. Goldman, JPM, etc.

Good broker for 5000 account ?

Personally I wouldn't put my money with a shop that has a typo on the 1st line of text on their home page, but maybe it's just me. "Open E Cry, LLC brings you the some of the lowest rates in the industry! ..." Also this too good to be true offer is like a bank offering 5% on a 1yr CD. Just...

    For day traders

One trick you can use is to have 4 or 5 'slightly-less-than-full-screen' charts staggered on top of each other so that any one is accessible at all times with 1 mouse click. I do this on each of 4 monitors.

I forget, is the 2nd day gap rule satisfied by cash closing the gap (which today it has), or are we still considered "unfilled" with ES yet to touch 27.25 in RTH? Thanks in advance.

Nice call. (Close enough now, at 1047.25). What I'd like to know is who's pushing this thing around like a rag doll today?

Guys sorry for the intrusion here ... Was Consumer Confidence today's 10am (eastern) news release? Yahoo Finance says 9am, plus the site seems to be down now. Thanks. Edit: Nevermind, they're back up and they posted a new time.

    ES fill price anomaly question

In most cases, probably better than 95% of the time, that is correct - you will not get filled if you pick the exact top (or bottom) to place your limit order at. But I would respectfully add - - so what? Why do you need to pick the EXACT top or bottom?!!!

    ES fill price anomaly question

In that case I would refer you back to my post on p.2. Occasionally you will get filled at the best tick, but it all depends on how many orders exist (on both sides) at your limit price. Bottom line, you should not be worried about taking 1 tick heat on a trade.

    ES fill price anomaly question

To me the slippage we've been talking about is really a non-issue, i.e. the "trade-through" requirement for a fill on a limit order. If you're talking about slippage on STOP orders, I think YM is probably worse than ES in terms of # of ticks. Don't know about NQ because I don't trade it.
