Trading KOSPI option contract just like a futures contract

There are always a lot of manipulations in Aisan markets. Korea, Taiwan, China, India, Hong Kong...... But manipulation is good for traders, the more manipulations, the more price movement and oppurtunities. Hope Asian countries will never make their security laws stringent.

what do you think of the equity curve

Well ,that's good. So please consider my suggestion of testing the strategy with more data. It will save a lot of trouble/ pressure in realtime trading later.

what do you think of the equity curve

It is of course far "away from the topic ", but still I am very interested to know, on what basis you made the allegation that I re-optimize my strategy every half a month ? In case you can not find anything to support your words, may I ask then, is it your habit to base your words on some...

what do you think of the equity curve

Can't you understand five month of data is not long enough to legitimate anything, even for intraday systems? But surely you can trade any idea on mind with your own money, go ahead. So far as "Arbitrary" is concerned , you have not answered my last question, where did you hear that I made...

what do you think of the equity curve

what do you think of the equity curve

I have strategies with similar result in the same period, looks great but depending on market situation (which keeps changing for HSI ), may turn out to be fiasco in realtime trading.

what do you think of the equity curve

It's over-optimization. Ask your friend for the equity curve of the same system of longer period, 2-3 years, then you will see the real picture. Good system need no reoptimization from time to time. Same system working all the time.

What's the regular incentive fee for managing OPM?

Also does track records make a difference in incentive fee percentage ? For example, how much should I collect if my past performance is 40% annually, and what will be the percentage if I made 200% last year ? The potential investment is of about USD100,000

What's the regular incentive fee for managing OPM?

The initial invest amount from one single investor would be much less than 1 million USD, which is the threshhold amount of hedge fund investment. So at the current stage , it is only manaing other people's money, not a hedge fund.I do not collect manage fees based on assets value, only...

What's the regular incentive fee for managing OPM?

Hi, after trading my own money and making a living for about four years, eventually I am going to managing other people's money ( at the same time when I am trading my own money). I am mainly trading stock index futures in East Asia . Before talking with the investors, I would like to know...

Does anyone here use IB data to trade index futures using very short-term charts?

Kiwi that's nice chart. You mean you can utilize data from longer timeframe (HSI-200707-HKFE) in the tick chart ( HSIN7-FUT-HKFE )? Do you collect that longer term data also from IB ? By the way, this morning I check Sierrachart site for fees, it seems for trading HSI, level 3...

Does anyone here use IB data to trade index futures using very short-term charts?

Robin Yes. But I do not like receiving the tick data throughout the session cuz you can only backfill tick data of maybe 2-3 hours.

Does anyone here use IB data to trade index futures using very short-term charts?

Hi, kiwitrader Thanks for the explanation about Sierrachart. For HSI, how do you get its tick data, do you have to keep receiving IB ticks during the session, or is there some else tick data service (for backfill ) available ?

Does anyone here use IB data to trade index futures using very short-term charts?

Kiwitrader IB does not provide tick data download, how long period of tick data does Sierrachart allow to backfill, one day, longer, or one have to keep receiving tick data during the session ? Also , does Sierrachart allow making customized indicators?

    a question about equity drawdown

Robin, beware of your system. Mid to High frequency strategies ,often traded by ATS, typically have a lower average expectancy per trade as well as lower drawdown .I have such strategies with similar profitability to yours, but the MDD this year so far is 3xx points and MDD this month was 163...

    a question about equity drawdown

In the long term , they should yield similar result. But tick data is not as reliable as data based on time ( i.e. multi-seconds, multi-minutes data), where did you get tick data ?

    a question about equity drawdown

Depending on the triggering method, 3 points cost may not be enough in today's market. Have you been trading it with REAL money ?What was the realtime track record compared with tradestation backtest? If the realtime result is similar ( 500-600 points per month in the last Four months), it is...
