    Henry Paulson

Paulson's plan to buy devalued securities from banks would drive U.S. government debt above 70 percent of gross domestic product, the most since 1954, based on economist estimates and details of the bailout. from http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601087&sid=aiqcgCwMmXIs&refer=home...

Help needed from someone familiar with Spanish bank laws

Another consideration: If Bank A sells you these products and they don't have in the prospectus who the issuer is, and Bank A looses lots of money, what's to keep them from telling everyone that some now bankrupt entity is (was) the issuer? Go get 'em!

Sec 132 - Suspension of Mark to Market!

Thank you for the clarification. That can go much farther then the $700B. Time for some "write ups" maybe? Keep in mind what we were reading is only a draft, not a law.

Sec 132 - Suspension of Mark to Market!

Where do you read "ability to suspend"? I read "shall conduct a study" and "shall report to congress at the end of the 90 day period..." Nothing about suspension.

    'Breakthrough' reached on bailout deal

If there are in fact $14T in mortgages and $165T in paper on those mortgages, what the hell does $700B do for the equation? Not very much. There's a whole lot more to it then "you might not be able to get a car loan if we don't do this" as idiots inside the beltway want us to believe. I...

    'Breakthrough' reached on bailout deal

Why should we vote Republican? So we can take the leverage to 80:1? And next time pay $700Trillion?

    'Breakthrough' reached on bailout deal

Many do (did) want it done BMO Sunday night but there are those who said they will not be held to a strict time deadline.

    'Breakthrough' reached on bailout deal

You'd think AP would know that midnight is the following day, not the previous day. What they are calling "midnight Saturday" is really "midnight Sunday." The last time (tick) of any day is 11:59:59. The first time (tick) of the following day is 12:00:00 (midnight).

Who conned congress in the late 90's to go for increased Credit Default Swaps?

I'm sure much of the propaganda on Youtube is coming from campaign workers. Just like the spam e-mail. That stuff can't be coming from objective persons with no interest.

Who conned congress in the late 90's to go for increased Credit Default Swaps?

I like Ron Paul as well; he thinks outside the box and is not afraid to let his opinion known. It's too bad he did not make it farther in the election. I read the article you cited; I don't believe much or any of what I read. Is the Federal Reserve innocent in this mess? Absolutely not...

Who conned congress in the late 90's to go for increased Credit Default Swaps?

That's complete bullshit. The problem comes from going from 7:1 leverage to 40:1 leverage. Who did this? The very names who have made headlines, the republicans, Hank Paulson. There is $14T in mortgages and $165T in paper on those mortgages. Hank Paulson as CEO of GS built the model for...

    NIC at Nite

Last night I came home from a nightclub circa 5am-ish and fired up a pc to see if there was any news on the communist bailout. I could not connect so I called my comcastic support desk. They told me everything is out and they will credit me for the day blah blah blah. I went to sleep. I woke...

what would happen if I mix ram pairs with different clock timing?

The way I understand RAM, the timing given in the specs is the fastest timing the manufacturer is guaranteeing that product to run stable at. We all know of people overclocking (speeding up) the ram, cpu, etc. I agree with the previous poster that if you set the timing in the BIOS to the...
