Bush: 'Lot of work to do' before leaving office

Bernanke did not take office until 2006. Did you mean to say Greenspan?

    Number of posts per heading

On the Forums page is where I was talking about. Not posts (replies) per thread, but where there are headings, for example, Wall St News, Economics, Hardware, etc. It would be nice to see more then the latest five under each. Thanks.

No shorting of financials allowed: who monitors this?

I think he's reading the data wrong. The short ban would have to be the exact 15 days of the timeframe of the short interest reporting to be accurate.

Plunge Protection Team issues progress report (PDF)

That's entertaining. I hardly call their efforts between March and today "progress."

    Number of posts per heading

it would be nicer if we could see more then the 5 most recent posts under each heading. and if we could control that number by heading that would be even nicer.

Bush: 'Lot of work to do' before leaving office

http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/10/12/bush.hundred.days.ap/index.html The problem is the "work" this idiot did in his eight years. I wish he would just stop "working" so intelligent people can work on it once the idiot leaves.

Why is IB's time 5 seconds behind the official time?

I disagree. No matter what time your clock says, lag is lag and will be what it is going to be. Change your clock by a year and it does not matter.

    CAD collapse

I trade Yen, Aussie and CAD. Here's my perception: Yen is the fear factor. I'm amazed at how high it's gotten. I missed some of the upside and caught some of it. I think it's LIBOR (>5% today) that's got it running so high. LIBOR is another fear factor which makes the Yen and LIBOR proxy's...

    Pictures of your trading stations

Nice setup. What's that to the left of your keyboard? (below the left-most monitor). And those cigs are just fine; some 'em myself now and then.

    Explain to this Aussie

You're right on the money about the banks gouging mortgage customers in the US. That was the first thing I saw as the Fed rate came down yet mortgage rates remained a constant. Same thing is happening with fuel here. Wholesale went from $3.90 to $2.05 yet pump price went from $4.10 to $3.70...

    64-bit vs 32-bit

Dell buys their parts via trainload; volume pricing that BYOC does not enjoy. The Dell deals are straight up systems with no add-ons. They hose you really bad on add-ons, upgrades, etc. I'm still using my Dim 4550 for e-mail, surfing, autocad, photoshop, etc. It's a dino!

    King Bush speaks

He's at a desk factory in VA. I did not know we still had a factory in the USA. Must be the last one. And lord knows that must be where all these exports we hear about come from. We know there's a big surplus of desks in the USA because nobody has a job!

it sure looks like the SEC didn't want the public to know about the red flags

Simple answer to it all. The SEC exists within the Executive Branch of the United States Government. Cox is appointed by Bush. Bush is for BIG business. If Cox would have done anything questionable to Bear Stearns, his job and political standing would have come into question. Same goes...

    New Closing Bell

There is no casket and no funeral. The subject is "closing bell" not "death to people." To those complaining, go beat your dog, your wife, your meat, whatever it is you choose to beat this morning. You'll complain about everything anyway. Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react...

    WinXP Pro X64 Evaluation Copy

I'll say it like this... To those of you who obtained the free Evaluation Copy (120 days) from the good people at Microsoft, if you bought a license near the end of your 120 day free trial but choose not to invest the time requisite to uninstall and reinstall the whole OS, you can use an...
