    What the tape is telling..

The market is still consolidating as far as I can see from the daily charts, no clear indication for a direction yet, I'd play small or stand aside (I hold tech stocks for 2-3 days max). There is nothing I would bet on right now

Any thoughts on AMAT and INTC?

If you feel that you are overtrading - trust your feelings and sell some, don't push yourself to the limit :)

    How many trend followers here?

I don't  Happy trading to you too :)

    How many trend followers here?

I do not accept that this is a fundamental principle, axiomatic to trading. And fortunately this website is not a community of morons. I understand that there are more movements in the smaller time frames. But the profits don't come from the movements but from being on the "right side" of...

    How many trend followers here?

I am not sure what you mean by "yield a greater profit" but to me this means a greater profit factor, i.e. making more money while LOSING less. Now I don't think that it is a trivial exercise to demonstrate that a shorter time frame can "offer" a better profit factor... Could you demonstrate...

    How many trend followers here?

It seems to me that you are actually asking if day-trading can be more profitable than position trading... Well, it's all about preference, there is competition in every timeframe. Daytraders like to daytrade and compete against other daytraders, trend followers like to follow longer term trends...

Why should we reduce trade size when losing?

Thanks mind for your answer :) As I see it from all the answers so far, it seems that if you are a disciplined system trader, then the "streaks" that occur are "random" and are inevitable part of any trading system, so it makes no sense to change your position size when such "streaks" occur...

    Stop these threads...

I think this market is driving everyone crazy and I got sick of seeing threads discussing the future market direction and who is short, who is long, who made the right call, who had their asses handed to them, etc... Correct me if I am wrong, but two GOOD TRADERS will make money in the long...

You took the bull by the horns with this stock :D

    NGEN Chart

Are you going to sell the whole NGEN position if it hits your stop (12.00) or just a part of it ? If you are bullish on the stock in general (it touches a 14-day EMA, has a volume backup, nice pullback), wouldn't you rather leave half the position with the same target and a lower stop?

Now that's a good plan  Good luck!

    NGEN Chart

Your R:R is 7:1... Why? It looks somewhat too predictable to me, with the same stop, I would probably go for 13.00... Chart tells me too many people are watching it, so expecting a whipsaw I wouldn't wait for 14.50. But I'd be glad to see your reasons, I am sure you know what you are...

Why should we reduce trade size when losing?

And by what is your money management system determined :) BTW I never said "last trade". I wrote "bad trades".

Why should we reduce trade size when losing?

From what I read so far in the thread, it seems that you must reduce your trade size if you are making "bad trades" not "losing trades" [NihabaAshi]. In order to do this you must be first able to recognize whether you are trading "correctly" and the market is changing thus causing an inevitable...

Why should we reduce trade size when losing?

"Decrease your trading volume when you are trading poorly; increase your volume when you are trading well." - Paul Tudor Jones I am sure that this rule is required to achieve a long term success in trading. However I am having a little difficulty in following it strictly because I don't...
