Todays P&L $220 Looks like I may have got shook out of LLEN: We will see. I have a tight leash on the EOD Plays. A good % of the time they will gap up first thing and then sell off. I try not to be too concerned where a stock goes after I have closed my position. I have my plan for...

How I stopped making the same mistakes in 2010 and started to make more money

I wouldn't be too concerned about the public following your rules. The good traders have thier own rules and the rest won't follow them anyhow.:D :D :D

How I stopped making the same mistakes in 2010 and started to make more money

Put your rule out in public and call your trades as you make them. You'll be surprised how a little peer pressure will make you follow the rules.

    I don't know anything

Look for market inefficiencies? When is the supposed efficient market inefficient? When it gets emotional. Look for events that are out of the ordinary. Hint:Unusual price and volume moves.

Bullverines 2 week trial Journal and PA discussion

Why the move from swing to day trading? Swing takes a few hours a day and not necessarily when the market is open. Day trading requires your very focused attention every minute of the trading day. Your decision making while swing trading is at a very relaxed pace. Decisions can be made while...

Todays P&L -$169 Kinda Sorta broke my stop rules on COH: Never had a bar close below 39.60 but the way it was selling off I set a hard stop. Once I start moving stops, I’m more likely to set hard stops CNX same story; I managed to enter at the HOD and once it started back down it never...

How I stopped making the same mistakes in 2010 and started to make more money

Thats true until you factor in Commissions, slippage and human nature. I tend to move my stops so that I see a little profit and have been known to take a little more loss than I first calculated. My planned 3 to 1 works out to 2.16 to one in reality.

How I stopped making the same mistakes in 2010 and started to make more money

I define risk as the amount I can lose on any one trade. I calculate risk as a % of my account. I calculate position size by dividing the difference between my entry price and my stop into whatever amount I’m willing to risk. If I’m willing to risk $100 and I have a 20 cent stop, my...
