    Olympics

If what you say is true - I have my doubts - then it is remarkable that the Tibetan people retain such an affection for him: to the extend of risking torture and imprisonment just for having his picture. There would be one way of settling the matter for certain which would be to hold...

    Olympics

Beijing apparently employs an army of spammers to pump out propaganda ahead of the Olympics. Jinbojones registered on 03-21-08 and has 6 posts exclusively about Tibet and wickedness of the Dalai Lama. It makes you think. Its worth pointing out that the Dalai Lama is a democrat. The Tibetan...

    Olympics

An interesting account by a Belgian tourist of the situation in Tibet "The day seems to be silent and peacefull, even boring. Until 6 o´clock. then 100s of Tibetans gather together on the Bakhor Square. They form a strong, silent, peacefull circle around the police who keep the middle of...

what does Jim Roger have to say about the genocide in Tibet?

How rich is Jim Rogers? He's not on the Forbes list. How much money has he actually made? If you read Investment Biker he was hopelessly wrong on a lot of his predictions. For example S. Ireland. Following his tips wouldn't have made you money. As has been pointed out he doesn't actually...

    IB and non-US customers

There was a thread a while ago that suggested that non-US customers might not be protected by SIPC.:( Does anyone have further information on this?

If oil is up why r my energy stocks down?

It is difficult to trade options on oil futures. Oil stocks seem to be the only way to do this electronically. Gold stocks seem to track the gold price better for some reason.

IB account protection for non-US customers

At what point does the account protection come in? If I buy, say, 100 shares in IBM using IB as my broker, then surely I am the owner of the shares and what happens to IB is immaterial.

    Thailand Stocks

You can buy thai stocks from the US. There is a Thai index fund run by a Thai bank but you can't invest in it unless you have a Thai work permit. I've put some information about investing in Thai stocks on this page.

    Trading gold

That's why I usually trade NEM. The options seems to be the most liquid for some reason, more so than XAU. It has become, perhaps, the preferred instrument for gold speculators. Neither YG or ZG seem to have any options available on them. I trade options exclusively. The problem with GLD...

    Trading gold

What is the best way to trade the gold price? Gold shares have greater volatility than the actual spot price, which gives you more profit potential. NEM? Seems to have the best liquidity. XAU? Or gold futures? Options on gold futures seem interesting but I don't know where to start...

    Third world shares

Investing in Third world shares might seem like a needlessly risky and complicated thing to do, but its not as difficult as might be imagined and there are some good reasons for doing it. For example if you wanted to invest in oil companies, you would have done a lot better in the last couple...

You could try options on NEM. They have better liquidity than the indices.
