Cathie Woods says stocks not in a bubble, hilarious. I wonder why she thinks that......

I think that a lot of the QE dollars are ending up in the markets.

    Data Science Topics

Hello, In what forum should data science topics be posted? For example, where would I post about structure and analysis of data sets in a pair trade (GM/F, AG/AU, VZ/T, etc.), including datasets such as market price, options at various strikes, futures at different contract expiry, etc. This...

How to be okay with taking a Stop Loss?

How to be okay with taking a Stop Loss?

Every trader goes through this. Nobody likes to stop out and take a loss. Create a plan, leverage your edge, set your stops, and execute. Anything else is just gambling, fear, and hope. You might as well flip a coin or go to a casino. Maybe this belongs in "Trader Psych" sub-forum.

    SSL Cert Vendor Recommendation, Please

So this was a huge help. I host about 20 sites on the side, and I'm migrating them off my GoDaddy hosting. They recommended I purchase Business hosting for about $650/year, which comes with a cert for all hosted sites. Instead, I set up nginx on an AWS Ubuntu instance, created a cert via...

    SSL Cert Vendor Recommendation, Please

Can anyone please recommend a reputable place to get an SSL cert? I have a bunch of Web sites showing "Not Secure" and it's effing annoying. Thanks, Keith

Going through a series of interviews

Beware... 1. If you start working through a 3rd party (consulting house, recruiter, etc.) it can be very difficult to get converted into a full-time employee. The fee is often a huge cash payment: 50% of your annual salary, or more. Unless you're a rock-star, they'll be reluctant to convert...

5 Things I have learned in 5 years of trading!

STRONGLY DISAGREE with point #1. Maybe for licensed U.S. Equity brokers.. but not so for Crypto, or even Forex! Sometimes it's a just a guy with a server set up in his basement, or something in a foreign country. Do your due diligence on your broker; they can take your money and run.

Data provider for real time tick-by-tick data

Whoa... why are they "wrong?" Are you sure you're calculating them properly? As you say, IB data U.S. equity data runs at 250ms tick times: 4 per second, and this price point is a Volume-Weighted Average Price (VWAP) of the previous 250 price points. IB streams accurate 250ms VWAP price points...

Day trading through a wi-fi connection at home?

Where are you getting your data from, and at what speed? Who is your broker? Also, what is your main data line into the router? (Cable, FIOS, other) I think it'll be fine, unless you're paying bucks for 1ms tick data. IB basic data packs run at 4 VWAP ticks/sec, or a 250ms tick time... and it's...

    Alternative to Pycharm

Typically we don't log on the hot thread. We dump logging off to a separate process through shared memory. If you want to go in deep you can also set up a microservice arch. Never forget that the GIL in Python is a pain in the @$$; it effectively makes all processing single-threaded, including...

Interested in individual training in trading

If you'd like to chat, message me. - What U.S. markets do you want to trade? Equities, futures, options, fixed income (treasuries, corporate bonds, munis), or other? Honestly to trade U.S. markets you should at least understand the basics of all these markets. For example, options pricing can...

    Alternative to Pycharm

I don't think it's the IDE, PyCharm is solid and good. Something weird is going on; I suspect it's in your pipeline somewhere. Before you dump Pycharm, I think you should get to the bottom of this, before it glitches on a trade and you end up taking a nasty loss. 1. Can you try running your...
