    Bonds: All Time Low Yields!

Oops! I just long ZB! Sorry. I meant to say the electronic version. I trade Ym and ES too long and I have a bad habit of calling any futures contract I trade the minis. ZB is very liquid though.

    THE MARKET WIZARD THREAD

Yeah! I like to see him do a "WHERE ARE THEY NOW" kind of book! Because have you guys seen the REVISED new edition to Stock Market Wizard? A lot of the traders there suffered big time. And the book was written in 2001 I think. I think by now who knows how many are still doing well. So, the...

    Bonds: All Time Low Yields!

Hmm... Well, the tumbling rates of the early 80s were from a much much HIGHER point than what we are now though(high as 13-18%!). I don't think the picture for the stock market is clear right now where we are headed. But it doesn't matter. I trade what I see not what I think. And it has...

    Bonds: All Time Low Yields!

Yep! The low in bonds were back in 1982 before the start of the stock bull market. Short term rates were as high 13-18%. Crazy. If people had bought 30yr zeros and held until now. That would be such a ride til now. But unfortunately I was like in 1st grade or something in 1982. haha. But you...

    Bonds: All Time Low Yields!

I'm in at 112-03. Should I take profit now? That's one of my longest hold ever! (Note: This is on ZB: 30yr minis) For the ES and YM I just do pure daytrades. This one is making me feel a little nervous since it's pushing so hard now...

    success rate trading S&p's

candle, u got it! You can have winner % days as high as 99% but if each and EVERY single winning days you have you only win $10. And each of the 1% losing days you lose $5000 each then obviously you can still be very negative!

    Competing Objectives...Who Wins?

TraderJimR, Great Post!! Congrats on your first superduper UPER long posts. I actually AGREED with you. I trade prop as well b/c of leverage and use of capital blah blah. That point I agree with you totally. My only issue was the that APPROACH pushed by certain prop frims or perhaps all...

    success rate trading S&p's

Foz! haha! That's funny. But a very apt analogy. Stick with what you know best and MASTER it. TRULY master it. The sky is the limit in trading stocks, futures, bonds, commodities, fx, options. It doesn't matter what you trade. But be damn good at it! Given that stmt, I trade both futures...

    Competing Objectives...Who Wins?

Yeah. 41% return is a nice margin for prop owners. Anyhow, it's not that simple though. Even though you can say 1.3 or 1.7 or 2.0 cents for the good high volume scalper prop traders doing a 1M++ shares a month produces a net $7K payout per month. This is a decent pay, but it makes LINEAR...

    Cumpulsive Trading

yep futurecurrents' advice is so right! that's the sign of your EGO speaking or rather SCREAMING OUT LOUD, "I'm RIGHT! I'm RIGHT! The market is wrong! I'm right!" I said hell it to ego a while back and my trading has improved dramatically since then. I'm only concerned about making $. If I'm...

    Cumpulsive Trading

sanjuro, Oh, I know what you are talking about! Oh boy Oh boy! I've been there and done that. Many times. Luckily, those days are a distant memory for me. Now, I know why it takes so long to master trading. You have to do ALL the stupid mistakes and experience the pain first hand before you...

    This is no MF trade

I agreed. Today, I had a few good trades. 75 cents winner on 1200 shares. Could have been $1.5 winner on 1200shares. Oh well. There are oppotunities but you have to look hard. Maybe I should stop for the day? keke good luck!

When has a stock run out of steam?

Fast_Trader, Yeah, it's hard to say when a stock runs out of steam. I just got out of a 75cents trade which is extradordinary in daytrading. And I was getting out cuz I was afraid it would run out of steam. And now it's continue to power up another 60 cents! Doh! It could have been a dollar+...

31% Return Over Last 8 Trading Days

No! That's not the power of compound interest. It's the power of position sizing and riding winners. Demo of powe rof compound interest is if one had $1 compounded since the time of Christ it would be over billions now.. even at 3% compounded annually...

    Competing Objectives...Who Wins?

limitdown, I think you hit the nail on the head!!! You outlined the TRUE COST of PROP TRADING. It's more , much MORE than just the commissions you paid. It's the foregone opportunity cost in terms of earnings, lost opportunities, and risking your own capital. Let me just say that there's...

    Competing Objectives...Who Wins?

Tell me about it!!! I had 2000 shares on AMR. I scalped for a fuckin' LOUSY few hundred bucks her and there, when I could have easily gotten 5000-8000shares (and it would be still not betting the entire wad like somone here suggested going 25x your entire acct! that' s just plain crazy!)...
