    IB and PYPL IPO

Well I guess he didn't automate it. Surprisingly though it was available for trading through the fast entry (I didn't figure this out until too late  ) Don't think this is rocket surgery. I mean every other broker does it.

    Off shore trading

Bahamas, Bermuda, Turks + Caicos, whatever, research the location they have some differences but it will basically cost you around $2000 to setup the IBC and then a yearly fee of $500 to keep it in order. Nothing difficult nor complicated. The IBC would not ofcourse engage in banking...

    Off shore trading

Not difficult at all. You set up an IBC registered in a tax haven (such as BVI) then that entity opens an acct with a broker and appoints you as the trader.

IB lowers options commission to $1

actually they did announce it but it was kind of buried here: http://www.interactivebrokers.com/html/companyInfo/euro_cut.html But we do have to give them credit, they are basically cutting the commission in half. Which other broker do you know that has done something similar recently?

Options are priced according to volatility. Since P2 would be buying options (per your suggestion) at a peak in volatility; that is, a huge move downward. Then it is to follow that he is buying a very expensive option which may decrease in value as volatility deflates. He may very well lose on...

    Liquidity and Flows Information

Another interesting article: http://www.hdbrous.com/Commentary.asp?SUBNAV=10 I'm just posting some stuff that I think provides a macro view of the market and the economy. I personally use it as a backdrop not for trading but for positioning a long term portfolio. It does, however, add...

    Pointdirex or IB

Their fees are VERY competitive :http://www.pointdirex.com/live/en/ns/html/feeschedule.htm Would have to agree on IB not being very user friendly. But if the PD charts are useless....why not combine with RealTick and only use it for execution? I'm seriously thinking of moving from IB due...

    Hard Drive Help?

Go to www.grc.com there, Steve Gibson has a utility that while not free, will pay for itself 1000x over. I think this is the link: http://grc.com/spinrite.htm This guy is a software engineer's engineer. You can also learn a hell of a lot more about drives than you ever wanted to. :)

stevet, as I said I wasn't here in the good old times :) but what I meant by the experienced trader's reaction was that he didn't believe that successful traders would spend a lot of time online in such a website. His view was to have a person to person relationship (mentor-student) would be...

Sad, but would have to agree... I talked to a successful and experienced (20+yrs) trader and when I mentioned elitetrader.com and the community here, he looked at me as if I had three ears. But then again, it is really up to us as members to contribute and make this an oasis of insight and...
