Great idea! Why cannot a broker put up some frozen fund/equity in the account for us? That's is a very encouraging step as cooperation with clients who kindly pay commissions as much as they can. This gives NASD/SEC no execuse. :p

No, it is a problem. It is acceptable if I lose a $2K account because of my trades. But it is not acceptable if my $25K is not secure with a broker. If I lose it because of others problems, I'd kill. :p

I quit generating commissions for brokers!!! :p

I mean, if small investors are not welcome, just will it be more easier and less controversial by mandatorily increasing minimum commissions. I'd like to see brokers suicide. :p

I am no surprised someone is really annoyed by lawsuits. Increase commissions and suicide if you want. :p

Agree. I think Big Brother is a special interest group whose representatives took over SEC/NASD and made the rules. I am not sure if they are still in power. Either some of these guys are kicked out or they kicked out good guys recently. :p

One more thing, IMO, even getting rid of PDT rules will not be a big deal to save these firms. Only strong firms in competition can survive. They must be the best in all respects, especially including robust finance and customer service.

vladiator, when will you become sophisticated enough to see this is a baloney. One simple tip to you, market or nonmarket risks are introduced by and applied to large accounts. Why the heck don't they use PDT rules in all cases?

Are you telling me that government has rights to apply the restriction differently by looking at how much money is involved, as an example you given, in business such as weapon, narcotics, and prostitution? :p

But in fact it does. This misrepresent the evidence. most of these 90% of losers had accounts with more than 25K. The rules are not rigorous at all. Restricting number of trades to solve either problem it is claimed to solve is a fundamentally wrong idea. :p
