"IB's applications have been submitted to the Canadian authorities. A few people are in the process of being registered as well. Hopefully approval will come sometime during July and August at the worst." Any update on approval yet Def? Thanks.

    Barrons 7/2/01: Direct Access Showdown

"We assumed typical Barron's readers (if there are such persons) could avail themselves of benefits for high account-balance holders -- over $100,000 in assets -- and make three round-trip trades per month" My initial thought is that these people shouldn't be looking at any of the direct...

    Barrons 7/2/01: Direct Access Showdown

I read your last article in the series. Regardless of what you say in the rest of the series, your conclusions highlight your inability to grasp the basic reason your "readers" would be looking at a direct access broker in the first place. Cheers.

    Barrons 7/2/01: Direct Access Showdown

So these certain Barron's readers don't consider quality execution to be a the determining factor in going with a direct access broker? What do you think the point of a "direct access" broker is??? If they don't need quality execution send them to Schwab or Waterhouse. Scary. No...

Just a tip: execution quality is 80% of direct acces broker evaluation. Research and other fluff means almost nothing without it.

You won't get rich daytrading - my story

So you think daytrading isn't for the average joe? is that what this whole thread is about? Or, Is it about you extolling the virtues of YOUR successful strategy and herding all the average joes towards your newsletter?

You won't get rich daytrading - my story

Interesting how people always assume various strategies don't work because they don't work for them personally. On the other hand I doubt any trader could succeed with all strategies. So perhaps the variable is the trader - not the strategy.

    Tradestaion Pro

They've got a long way to go with their futures execution. Lind Waldock with some basic order entry screen isn't going cut it for daytraders.

    Barrons 7/2/01: Direct Access Showdown

I don't think I've EVER seen a really good review in the media of direct access brokers. Most of them suck up to the national firms for ad dollars, or are clueless as to the importance of reliability, and quality of execution. Turn the list upside down and it makes alot of sense though LOL
