    IB Liquidated March Treasuries

They made good on it. I am satisfied as well as relieved.

    IB Liquidated March Treasuries

I don't know if IB is actually going to make good on its mistake. Here is a message I received from customer service today. "Dear Trader, The original liquidations were done in error, i.e., 12 hours ahead of time, and therefore these liquidations were cancelled and the positions were...

    any ZN position traders?

Long-term bear, short-term bull. Bot June today at 107.160, looking for a pop to 108'130.

You were wrong--simply admit it. Everyone here knows no one is perfect. :-)

    IB Liquidated March Treasuries

I will not rant and rave about this, but the same happened to me. To replace the sold Marchs IB sold out Sunday night I bought the equal number of Junes early (1 AM) Monday, and then at 11:30 today I check my account to learn that I now have twice the contracts I wanted, since the Marchs had...

Nassim Taleb makes the rounds again

Certainly MM price in the risk of "fat tails", but there is no way of knowing in advance if they're getting PROPERLY compensated for the risk for one simple reason: no one knows for sure what is going to happen in the future. It is impossible to precisely "game" the future. That is the...

    1% a day consistently: possible?

If you cannot show me evidence, then I do not believe it. Hearsay means just about nothing. Nothing personal. I do not believe in UFO's, Bigfoot, or the continued existence of Elvis, even though some claim that all are real.

    1% a day consistently: possible?

I forgot to add DRAWDOWN. High returns usually come with high exposure and, therefore, high drawdown. 50-100% annual returns over 10 years with about 20% drawdown would be something I have never seen anybody do. Or even close to doing. I would love to see it, though.

    1% a day consistently: possible?

I would like to see evidence of returns. Anyone can simply list off names. I mean AUDITED returns, not from word of mouth. And I mean CONSISTENT returns. No one-ht wonders, It has nothing to do with being offended at good returns.

    1% a day consistently: possible?

How many professional CTAs/money managers make 100% a year consistently? Obviously, there are many, since doubling one's money every year is "common." Show me the names, the returns, and the sources.

    1% a day consistently: possible?

Good luck finding any takers. George Soros, an elite trader if there ever was one, long-term has averaged 30% a YEAR. 30% a month long-term, consistently month to month, with small drawdown--I don't believe it. Anyone earning consistent double digits returns a month must be taking on...

    Natural Gas - Help

Carrying costs, and not commissions, would be the biggest cost if you wanted to hold ng for the long term. Carrying costs are storage costs, and after a while, they add up. They will continue to go up as interest rates head higher. At expiration the electronic contracts are settled in cash...

    GOOG object lesson

I rarely buy options, preferring instead to sell them, but I bot Feb 380 calls for 35 cents Tuesday afternoon. My thesis? GOOG was due for a sharp, year 2000-like bounce to 400, esp after the negative press over the weekend. People who read and follow Barrons and other mags think they're...

help - natural gas on i/b

The electronic contracts expire and are settled, like stock index futures, in cash. This is different from many other commodities, in which if you do not sell/buy back the contract before settlement, you are obligated to buy/sell the underlying commodity. If you trade corn, you better roll, or...

help - natural gas on i/b

There is no stock or etf that directly corresponds with natural gas. Stocks of natural gas companies will tend to move somewhat in conjunction with the price of natural gas, but since companies hedge by selling nat gas futures, there is no guarantee that a sharp rise (fall) in nat gas will...

help - natural gas on i/b

Sure, but it is a pain to open a new account if your current broker has plans to offer the same products. I've been patient.

help - natural gas on i/b

I am in the same quandary. Winter is gone, just about, but the damage from Katrina is still a problem. There are long-term supply problems, and I want to hold ng for a few months at least. Through IB you can't do that: you buy and roll. I own several of the Marchs and will roll in April...

    Crude bounce.....

If crude rises, so probably will nat gas. Both are oversold, and nat gas is especially so.
