Sometimes i do, but only if i'm fast enough.

Does anyone have methods to trade the open or do people generally wait for the 1st 15 mins. to see what happens? I've tried methods based on going long or short after the price goes higher or lower than the 1st 5 minute bar, but often the price reverses on me and the trade is unsuccessful...

How do people find this platform? Is it fast & reliable? TIA

I'm currently using Ameritrade, but they only have access to the ISLD ECN & i'd like to be able to route through BRUT,ARCA,BTRD etc also.

I trade a lot of stocks under $5. Paying per share costs can become expensive when trading 10K at a time. Can anyone recommend a broker that can cut my commissions but still allow me direct access?

I'm not sure about the futues feed, but quote speed and reliability is comparable with eSignal from my experience with it. Far better than quote.com. Price wise it's about the same price as eSignal equities basic i think.

Does the eSignal quote feed keep up with heavily traded stocks like QQQ? I'm going to change from quote.com to another provider as their servers cannot. TIA

I had an order placed through Ameritrade today that was routed to the island ECN which took 3 hours to execute! The support people at Ameritrade said it was an ISLD problem. During those 3 hours i couldn't cancel the order either. Is this kind of thing common?

I've recently started using irc chat as part of my trading. I find it useful to get an idea what other people are seeing. Like a previous poster said, it's good to have lots of pairs of eyes looking out for possible trades and clues on where the market is heading.

I have the same problems with the QCharts data feed stopping. Sometimes at incredibly important times! I agree with a previous post that their charting and UI is still pretty much the best out there. They just need to get the data reliable. By the way has anyone managed to upgrade to 4.3 yet...

Does anyone have any techniques for getting a short position filled in a stock that's already started falling. Would i just have to continually lower my ask price while the stock falls making sure my ask is above the current bid?
