eSignal comes with a simulated paper trading program installed. uses real time data and is very accurate in my experience....but downside is it requires you have and pay for an eSignal software/data service.

well that was what i was trying to confirm. iv'e never used a laptop with trading software, and very limited experience using them in general. all my desktops have been high end machines so no real benchmark for comparison. i'm trying to avoid or help others avoid spending $700+ on something...

thanks for the suggestion. i was just looking at memory and an x-tra gig is just over $100, pretty cheap. guess im more worried about the screen resolution now than the gfx card...lol...

have to say mine is knowing the limitations of my strategy and recognizing and avoiding trades/conditions that it will perform poorly in.

well we dont always take an entire program or strategy away with us when we read threads like this one or your journal. sometimes they help refine strategies we are personally working on (add another piece of the puzzle) or give us a new direction to explore.

curious ...have you decided how you might approach trending markets should that be the case?

Iv'e noticed a similar situation with $TICK and alot of times faster CCI will confirm early stages of the trend by breaking +-100 and reversing while the slow CCI stays above or below the 0 line.

curious...have you ever played around with $TICK and your divergence meathod? if so...what were you experiences?

in your experience what conditions has it favored most over the time you've been trading it? have you noticed if it performs better in sideways/congested markets -vs- trends?

Iv'e been real happy with eSignal. I have yet to wait more than a day for a reply to a problem and the data feed has been excellent. I wish i have used Real Tick to compare it to but have not. I would also suggest the trial.
