There are so many things going on with time and sales that I find it useless for forecasting direction beyond a tick or two. That said there are times that that little bit of knowledge combined with the DOM is pretty useful.

There are a couple of services that provide oral quotes on S & P all day long. A person could trade something like Mark Fishers method with quotes alone. I think it would be tough but not impossible.

Just curious why you dont simply daytrade the ES and give worrying about the long term picture. It seems to me that daytrading is by far the least risky way to approach the ES. You can trade just about any size you wish and be out at the end of the day and sleep peacefully.

I started monitoring block trades on ES as it seemed to me that good traders would be coming in on the start of moves rather than at the end so if you have a one directional move for an hour or two and then you see a bunch of large trades start crossing the tape, this would signal a reversal...

What exactly do you mean by tape reading? I consider myself a tape reader as all I am looking at is price, volume and dom (throw in a few trendlines) but many of my trades can last up to 30-60 minutes.

Windwalker I dont know what software youre using but Quotetracker has the fastest trendline capability that I know of. Simply clik on your left trendline and move it out. Takes about a second.

The 1130 bar was decreasing red which should throw up the flag that change was a distinct possibility. my 2 cents.
