I put out 6 orders got filled long hd at 20.65 600 shares offered it up a dime...and ca-ching 60 bucks. Just started doing these again, 5 winners no losers thusfar last three days. I'm doing more of the s&p 400 midcap type stocks than the super liquid names though and keeping the size small...

What are your commissions? If your trading a lot of shares even a fraction of a cent difference could get you profitable or close to break even. Also, I don't know what you trade but something simple like adding a futures squawk if you don't have one could allow you to get in and out 2-3...

Don is "pair trader pro" a software platform/program itself or it is something that one of those platforms contains within it. You should have gotten Neovest down there as well, they have a Sales office near by. Still time. :cool:

I don't know of any firms that do have an edge with openbook but who knows? There are a few firms that have a huge edge on nasdaq because the software they are using allows them to see the contra party trades for every share traded on a particular ecn. That is prettty nice thing to have...

IMO volume is the cause and price is the effect. A lot of scanning software compares the current 5 minute (10, 15 whatever) bar to the previous few time periods and that can give you a heads up as to when a big move might take place intraday because it brings it to your attention faster. If...

That was a great little on the money article with regard to NYSE issues, wish it had been longer though. Site looks new (its copyrighted 2003) will have to keep an eye on it, if they add content it could be very cool and on target for most of us that frequent ET. :cool:
