Great post HFS......shows that people can evaluate their strengths and weaknesses and make the right decisions for them and not spend all their time blaming trading in general. I am not surprised you made it as a position trader. Nice work :)

For some, trading is the right business, for others it's not. Same thing goes for all businesses. Gotta find the right fit for you, that's all. :)

What are you talking about? Their goal isn't to keep everyone alive forever. If it were, then you'd be correct.

It sounds like Hood blames trading when in fact he should blame himself for losing control of his emotions and/or discipline. If the market pays you well for six months, a situation should not arise where you consistently lose it all in one month if the trader followed the same strat and...

Who said anything about 'predicting' the whole move? If the ES moves up 10 points (unless it's all on one big spike), there will be several key areas where the mkt will signal the savvy trader that they should enter. If the trader can't see these then they should NOT be trying to scalp a point...

A good start would be to not take your advice on trading. Anyone who watches a 10 point move in the ES in hopes to catch a 1 pt reversal is someone that doesn't understand trading very well.
