Your comment made little sense and I pointed that out. You are welcome :)

    My "Disciplined Daytrader" story

Nah, if you learn to read price action you can anticipate a real breakout and spot one that doesn't have anything really behind it. Just takes a lot of experience, you need to closely watch the mkt trade for quite some time to gain the insight needed to spot each scenario. I really don't think...

    why can't i stop after 3 losers?

You cannot control the market, you can only control how you interact with it. If you are having issues restraining yourself per your own rules, you need to stop live trading and evaluate what is going wrong. Once you figure that out, then get back on the horse. But the last thing you want to...

    My "Disciplined Daytrader" story

I guess it's human nature to resist something that doesn't align with your experiences. Poor guy, sounds like he got burned badly. It's a wonder, though, why him (and others) spend so much time on a website that has to do with trading?

    My "Disciplined Daytrader" story

Great post HFS......shows that people can evaluate their strengths and weaknesses and make the right decisions for them and not spend all their time blaming trading in general. I am not surprised you made it as a position trader. Nice work :)

    My "Disciplined Daytrader" story

For some, trading is the right business, for others it's not. Same thing goes for all businesses. Gotta find the right fit for you, that's all. :)

LOL, I already told you, you couldn't afford me! :D Good to see you are happy and have moved on.

    My "Disciplined Daytrader" story

Brag? I've purposely never thrown any figures out there for that very reason. My point is not to brag but to encourage those, who have a clear plan and the discipline to execute that plan, that they can achieve success in trading. Will they make 100's of millions, probably not! But they can do...

    My "Disciplined Daytrader" story

I'm sorry, we are just going to have to wholeheartedly disagree with each other. :) I know I treat my trading as a real serious business and the money I have generated for myself comes as a direct result of consistent implementation of a sound trading plan. Going on for over a decade...

    My "Disciplined Daytrader" story

Maybe discipline kept you in the game for more years than you should have been.....halted stock scenario aside, it sounds like the market was telling you years ago to stop trading, you didn't have the right temperament and/or strategy to make this a long term thing. By the way, how can you be...

What are you talking about? Their goal isn't to keep everyone alive forever. If it were, then you'd be correct.

    My DAYTRADER story

It sounds like Hood blames trading when in fact he should blame himself for losing control of his emotions and/or discipline. If the market pays you well for six months, a situation should not arise where you consistently lose it all in one month if the trader followed the same strat and...

    My DAYTRADER story

If you HAVE a real edge but DON'T exert the proper discipline to trade it, you're doomed.

How to avoid being one of the 90% of small traders lose

Who said anything about 'predicting' the whole move? If the ES moves up 10 points (unless it's all on one big spike), there will be several key areas where the mkt will signal the savvy trader that they should enter. If the trader can't see these then they should NOT be trying to scalp a point...

How to avoid being one of the 90% of small traders lose

A good start would be to not take your advice on trading. Anyone who watches a 10 point move in the ES in hopes to catch a 1 pt reversal is someone that doesn't understand trading very well.
