Apparently collective2 has been hacked and they got all, I mean all of my information. Luckily my credit card has expired but they got everything else.

ok I will be assigned 100 shares short at expiration but since I received $1055 when i sold the option I can buy it back for $1000 leaving me with a $55 profit if SpY were to close at $112. Im not worried about margin at this point.

I sold it yesterday about 30 cents higher than it closed today, I am not $10 in the money, or even close the option expires thursday the broker is IB and ive made about 500 such trades, I have never carried one short to expiraration, I will call them tomorrow.

I sold a $102 SPY call near the close yesterday for about $10.80 so I am short that call; the underlying is about 30 cents in the money

the trade is about 30 cents in the money so Im not losing money now as much as I would like to sell now at 102, its at 112 now maybe it wasnt such a dumb question after all...... or have I possibly discovered a loophole?

Whayt happens if you sell an option short and carry it past expiration. Does it just get closed at the price or do you end up short 100 shares of the underlying?

ok that makes sense but dont mutual funds get the money to invest from customers, nobody I know is putting money into the market yet, certainly not in significant amounts.

while I agree both are coming down, you were stopped out on both trades. apparently you doubled down which almost always leads to a blowup, they look safe now yes most here dont trade and post crazy comments...doubling down is a flawed plan.

It is not the sheep I know. I cant imagine mutual funds are buying this high. Maybe its just the banks buying with tarp money, but most gave it back. So who is it???

what are the best etfs to trade for gold and the bond??

Thanks but with IB you dont type in the month you just pick it from a list, I must not have data for it I had the right ones will have to look.

I use interactive brokers and am not getting data for gold and bonds. zb and zg. It gives a closing price for zb but not even that much for gold

Iran will have a nuclear bomb in the next 3-6 months. Thats means Israel has to attack them, or manipulate us into doing it. Before June.
