How do I keep my trading computer running well?

Actually, if you re-read the original post (and the title of this thread) you would see that he wanted to keep his machine clean and fast meaning keeping it running at the same speed as when an OS is freshly installed. OC'ing the processor doesn't fit the bill for what the OP asked unless you...

URGENT, Secure Device Required for TWS

No pre-device it was discretionary how they handled fraud, post-device if you opt out you are definitely screwed, if you opt-in then it is still discretationary (status quo)

URGENT, Secure Device Required for TWS

I think you are far too kind in your interpretation...this is how I read it: If you opt-out, you are are on your own if something happens (they may help you figure out what happened but no restitution) If you use the device (opt-in), then you are still held to the same policy there was...

URGENT, Secure Device Required for TWS

Watch your hyperbole. Even after this change, IB in no way has "the best possible security". As you said, security is always a tradeoff against convienence and cost. The "most secure system possible" would be a heck of lot more secure then what is being proposed here. Not saying what...

    Ameritrade leaks customer email addresses?

I have had that happen with my Ameritrade email address, although I will admit that I used "Ameritrade@(my domain)" so its possible that its just someone sending emails to Ameritrade at every domain. However I also have gotten spams to a second Ameritrade account which is registered with...

Well if the reversal trade has a better track record (and a better risk/reward ratio) then the primary trade then perhaps you should be trading that trade exclusively (forget the primary trade) as MajorUrsa previously suggested.

Another interesting aspect about this trade: he could have gone the other way and still won (gone short @ 1516, target of 1514, stop at 1522). That's the nature of a small profit target/large stop trade - it has an inherently higher win ratio (even with random entries) however as you said...

Yea, my math could be off but if he's right 9 out of 10 times with a 2 pt target/6 pt stop I think it works out like this: 9*2*50 - 1*6*50 = $600. Now subtract 10 R/T comm ($45) and you have $555. Divide by 10 trading days and you get an average of $55/day - a little more then 1 ES pt/day -...

Well that's one for you but I agree with Steve that a 3:1 RR is not good. One loser means you have to have 3 winners just to break-even (excluding commissions)

Lets recap: You are new to futures and you want to develop what amounts to your own personal ATM machine that just generates money without requiring your close supervision. Great idea, its amazing no one has thought of this before - just think all that money sitting there, waiting for you...
