    Algos ruined day trading

This is your logic. What I meant is that there was no time in history that someone did not have an advantage, yet, there are always great traders and investors who do not focus on what they do not have, instead what they do have and make the best out of it. For example, If you do have a...

    Algos ruined day trading

During the civil war, there were spectators sitting on the hill who reported to large institutions and speculators who is winning in the battlefield. They reported it by Telegraphs or by actually riding on horses and reporting the situation. So there was always an unfair advantage to...

Wireless connection vs. Wired for Emini trading

I understand. I posted this also for the readers of the site. We have a growing demand for people who want to trade from phones and other wireless devices. We just want to avoid any latency issues that could occur. I would say for most who can not measure latency, stay with a wired connection...

Do I have to keep TradeStation Workshop/Desktop Open?

My reference was to algo/automated scripts that may trigger orders overnight. If you keep a position overnight or orders, which is a result of discretionary trading, you obviously know the risks associated with such overnight moves and the protection you have to put in place.

    Investing in Security Tokens (STO)

I am not sure what your response has to do with my question about regulation of coin and price discovery of these instruments. But, if you want to know my answer to yours, here it is: I want to be with the leader of Block Chain just like Amazon is the leader in e-commerce. Someone will...

    Investing in Security Tokens (STO)

The more important question is how does the token rise or fall in value in terms of it's valuation to the underlying asset? Who supervises it? who regulates its price mechanism?

What do you do after a losing trade?

You should develop your own ROI, without the ongoing "race" to compete with something that perceives to be good. Each trader evolves as he makes his conclusion and observation. Regretfully, in this age of the internet, there are many theories of what is possible, but many of them are far...

What do you do after a losing trade?

A losing trade is a losing trade. But one trade does mean your trading method is terrible. Losing trades can occur as a result of a myriad of reasons, and as I said one trade should or even 5 for that matter should be the cause to rewrite an entire method. Series of adverse events and good...

What do you do after a losing trade?

I agree. A trade that did not go well, is not a mistake. If analyzing each trade works for you, I understand and respect it. If it helps you build a long term pattern, then it's even better. The bottom line is that if you do things that help you improve your trades, you are in the right...

What do you do after a losing trade?

Your math is off. If you risk 2% per trade, you do not add 2% as if you start over. So after five trades, you would be down less than 10%. Second, I did not suggest not to analyze trading, and I am a big advocate for analyzing your data. But, I recommend having a macro view as opposed to...

What do you do after a losing trade?

Analyzing each individual trade is useless in the context of 50 or 100 trades. It means nothing. UNLESS you have one of those individual trades that ate your entire account, and that is a big risk management concern (and psychological).

Tax Advantages of Trading Futures Vs. Stocks

You have a fair point. In Futures, you deal with leverage and margins, and it does not allow the same luxury (for most) as stocks with a long term view. But each trader has a risk tolerance, and also a comfort level of trading one asset over another. Yes, leveraged trading has a higher risk, but...
