I cannot read it either, but anyways I wouldnt put anything past california since they need the money!! Anyways from the title about otc derivatives, I would think it means the same thing the house is trying to do to reform otc derivitives, like the CDO'S CMBS'S etc..

    Forex from an IRA

And by the way I have a taxable account also linked to the IRA in GFT so I trade both at the same time. For Example, I hit trade one time and what ever I had specified whether its 1 standard lot or 5 minis, it puts each of that amount in each account. So it makes it easier to trade if you want...

WSJ today: Democrats Weigh Tax on Financial Transactions

These guys are just following one article after another, they do not do their own research, they have no clue. Thats why all the info is always screwed up about who is for it, or if the tax is on everyone or just the bailout banks. These dam articles are annoying.

Of course seaside I agree with you, this has been in ways an means a long time and is presented every year so far not gaining anymore democratic support which is also good. So yes keep monitoring it as well. Also the hype is lessening on CNBC which is good, the people for and against are less...

1/4% Tax on all stock trades pushed in NY Times today

That actually wasnt as bad as it was the last few times, they didnt mention what the tax number was which is good. I wouldnt mind a sec type tax on futures or currencies since it is small. That guy was open to a price for the tax. But either way atleast we didnt have the cheerleader Erin Burrnet...

WSJ today: Democrats Weigh Tax on Financial Transactions

My guess is they are doing things behind the scenes but also waiting till this really gains traction in a real sense, not just an article here or there like it has been. The bill thats been in the house since Defazio put it in there last Feb I believe, is probably not to much a worry for these...

GKI , Maybe you can email the STA securities traders assoication. They are a big association with good leadership. They wrote a letter to congress back in Feb when this first came about with Defazios bill. They might be up for taking on that role.

1/4% Tax on all stock trades pushed in NY Times today

Maybe and maybe not Prime but it doesnt hurt to chime in and try. Becuase there is a lobby and maybe that someone of prominence will be on our side. Then when they start to lobby government officals will remember all the letters they got from us and that might help tip it on our favor. Anyways...
