    Its all about "tests"

I have two basic systems to trade--- trend and countertrend. I lose if I'm loaded up and trend trading when I should be countertrend trading and vice versa. That has been the key for me. Reading the music, finding the tempo and executing according to conditions or NOT. Also knowing when to...

Bull Trapping Part II or Sell the Bounce

Well good thing for the quik stop as by the afternoon that big gulp would've turned into a hot apple bendover. Funny thing is I closed and left then bada bing bada boom reversal day. In fact that would have been "THE TRADE OF THE DAY" I think ET should start a "TRADE OF THE DAY" thread...

    average best bid/ask size EminiSP500

Average inside 500ish, middle 1000ish, outside 2000ish in the book on globex. I believe but right now inside is 1700 for instance.

Bull Trapping Part II or Sell the Bounce

Well 7-eleven has been very, very good to me. Down was the play and I have to say I'm on my way to the Quik stop for my twix and big gulp....

Bull Trapping Part II or Sell the Bounce

Even tighter coiling. Gonna be fun when this latest consolidation breaks. I think I may bust out some additional capital and swing hard, but then again if I conserve my capital I may have enough for both a super gulp and a twix bar at 7-eleven..... decisions, decisions.

Guy drives his car for 870K miles

I have a Toyota and a Ford. Both bought new and meticulously maintained. Without question the FORD has been the better vehicle with regard to repairs, reliability, ride, etc. The toyota does get better gas mileage but the ford is a diesel truck and for the size of the vehicle is...

Bull Trapping Part II or Sell the Bounce

Well now the equity indexes sit at a crossroads (again). Divergence in the SIF's have set-up a potential blast higher as buying and selling have balanced. The set-up (to me) at least technically looks bullish. However complicating the picture is the fact that last week was low volume...

Bull Trapping Part II or Sell the Bounce

Agreed however, historically, the end of tightening has meant a 10% drop going forward. There is alot of supply ready to be dumped on any big moves up. People are vacationing. When they get back and we get some volatility that is when we'll see where we go and I'm not so sure it's up.

Bull Trapping Part II or Sell the Bounce

Well here we are in a range again. Alot of buyers nervously gnashing their teeth as a low volume drift sideways occurs. Gonna be some nice moves ahead again as the bulls/bears fight it out. My view has not changed. The spurt up was easily telegraphed but now it's harder to discern the...

Well we tagged 1283.75 to the penny.

Bull Trapping Part II or Sell the Bounce

Well that was fortuitous. That blip below, yesterdays low met with buying. Which was a negative for continued selling hence the lack of required confirmation noted above. Anyways the fireworks begin tommorrow and I'm out of range mode and back into momentum mode. Follow the money....

Bull Trapping Part II or Sell the Bounce

Looking at the equities market I am reminded of the low volatility going over tha past few years and how starting in May '06 vol. ticked up substantially and how we sold off a few %. The thing is we have not sold off enough and this bull is getting old. Some are calling this a new bear (I am in...

Bull Trapping Part II or Sell the Bounce

Today tested both ends of "The Range." Of note we broke below 1250 However it was too big a move too late in the day to break further. The forecasted range was multiday and based on today's range it was unlikely any break below 1250 was going anywhere at 3 pm after 13 pts down on moderate...

Bull Trapping Part II or Sell the Bounce

Perhaps. Currently undergoing price and volume compression. There is a ledge forming at the low end of the range where selling volume dries up. But a catalyst such as FOMC will expand volume thereby releasing the energy necessary to break through the current range. Either up or down...

Bull Trapping Part II or Sell the Bounce

Going nowhere fast. Market digesting pulse down. I'm playing this as follows. If we break through 1250 most likely test 1232 in the ES. If we break above 1264 most likely we test 1284 and perhaps 1300. 1250 to 1264 is "The Range." Volatility has ebbed and most likely will continue...

Bull Trapping Part II or Sell the Bounce

Sideways action prevails as expected. Volatility has ebbed a bit. Back to range trading. I'm still out but just peeked at the markets to see what's up.
