Question for peopel who trade the NQ for a living: what kind of size would an average trader need to pull to make around $1K/day. I would think around 8-10 contracts. I traded the NQ for the first time today and it took a while to make 1 point. I was hoping for faster moves....might just be the...

I think the YM will go up tomorrow...might test the 9340 level, and then bounce back. As long as it has a defined direction which sustains for at least 15-20 minutes, I'll be OK. -FastTrader

peter, I've been trading KLAC for a while as well. My tip: Trade in 100 sh lots when you first start. Actually, I would recommend paper-trading or trading on a simulator when you first start, but that's too boring for some people, in which case 100 sh lots will do the trick nicely and cheap...

Same here. Trading 1 contract of YM, ES and NQ to build skill. Dont really care how much I make for now, since I'm still learning. I try to make $$ in stocks tho, but still keep size manageable (500-1000sh) -FastTrader

Maybe you should paper-trade when trying new/different markets? I know I wouldn't jump into an unfamiliar market without properly studying it first. Also, try trading without the chat room one day. Bet you'll do better! For boredom/entertainment, just pay a visit to the Chit Chat section on...

How about we meet up at FFastTrade office and then cruise over to Reza's? That place has pretty good food, and plenty of space. Greek town will be packed and the wait till definitely be over an hour (at least at any decent place). -FastTrader
