Call CNBC about New Daytrading rules!

what did you expect ? CNBC defending traders ? Of course not. Let's look at it the way it is. The only advantage is this : these cheerleaders will help us milk retail investors when finally we have another bear market rally. Silly as it seems I think investors will buy into another...

Call CNBC about New Daytrading rules!

They have a few knowledgeable guests sometimes but the advertisers probably don't like people being bearish.. John Doe does not want to hear when his investment is going down, so no ratings [well, less ratings]. They mentioned it several time on the air, business is tough when the market is...

    Cable Router-which one?

several linksys users.. well, I am too. great router and firewall and proxy for Cable or DSL. Get the model with 4 ports so it is a switch too and you can share internet and build easy local network.

Do you know who the crowd is?

well, I did not realize you meant the traders crowd :) I am not sure such a thing exist. This board is a good example. Many different styles, sometimes in opposition, many different markets and strategies. I would not dare to generalize on traders. It is much easier to generalize on the real...

Do you know who the crowd is?

it is probably not a good thing to try to answer this question. Because I suspect your next step will be to guess what the crowd will do next ? 've been there, 'done that. it goes nowhere. predicting the market is a very dangerous thing to attempt. The way to follow the crowd and read...

    IB and Patsystems

yes, indeed. I am looking forward this level 2 feature for retail accounts. on a side note, I can't find the beta release page on IB's web site anymore. pity I liked that a lot. where is it ? neo

    IB and Patsystems

You don't need to use the keyboard either with IB [if you chose not to]. You can click the bid or ask and an order with the right price is created, you can transmit or wait. You can change the price with the mouse or keyboard or hotkeys. You even click cme's "level 2" to fill in an order at...

    IB and Patsystems

well it depends on the stock and its liquidity and specialist. but usually limit orders close or within the market are very fast. market orders sometimes even faster [liquid stocks only of course]. no comparison to cybercorp for instance, which is very very slow for listed stocks [well at...

    Qcharts

esignal fine. realtick fine. mytrack fine. nexttrend fine. sorry. [yes, I have access to all 4].

    IB and Patsystems

I can't really compare since I used only IB. I can share my experience though. It is really fast. 1 or 2 seconds for fills. cancels very and order changes fast too. stop orders very good too. hotkeys make orders, size and price selection very fast.

    IB and Patsystems

patsystem is the software. IB use its own software. Patsystem is available at several brokers. I have tried a simulated mode of patsystems. It seems complete. But you know what ? despite all the comments about IB's interface [not all justified imho] I like IB's direct approach better...

IB: Direct Access or Not? See this text....

It's OK. IB does not do enough advertising [they do it on purpose] so wrong information is out there sometimes. You did the right thing just asking real customers. of course it is direct access. neo

    New minis - CBOT

sure you're right EnterLong. I was only thinking very short term 'cause actually I am very interested in more electronic markets than now. In the long run, there is no doubt whatsoever :)

    New minis - CBOT

this seems interesting. more trading opportunities. however, only with liquidity these contracts will become interesting.

Gambler's fallacy vs. Theory of Probablity

Excellent thread ! It seems the only issue still debated is the change of size. It is only a side issue imo. The big point is to understand the positive expectancy game and what the odds mean, and this was well covered. changing size is an OPTIMIZATION. you should not change size, ever...

    NexTrend Charting Software

Hi, sorry if I spoil the party. But I think I should say what I see. NextTrend for emini is slightly slower than eSignal. I don't complain, and I use them as back up [although, after all, IB is a quote back up too, without charts. if IB goes down anyway I am screwed]. I agree the charting...

    Day Trading Losers

Right ! And the funny [sad] thing is, it takes a lot of loosing before you realize what it means 'it's only psychology'. I know, newbies reading my comment might think 'c'mon not another warning about psychology! give us the sure way to trade instead !'. And that's why you are newbies...

Any good books on Elliot Wave?

I agree with Sterling. Miner's is not a preacher of Elliott Wave he concentrates on the real thing : $$$$ It is also a real trading plan. It does not mean you make money with it, but at least it gives you sound principle and method, then it's up to you to screw it up with your psychology :)...

Software beats humans at Commodities trading

Remember these threads about system trading and automation of trading and supercomputer thing ? well.. told you ! AHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHA !!! :) neo PS : IBM never intended to make money with a computer which can play chess. You had to know what they really had in mind.

IB is NOT allowing odd lots for QQQ, SPY and DIA even on ISLD

it was possible to trade with less than 100 shares with ISLAND SPY or QQQ or any ETF with IB. This changed recently. I guess for uniformity [on NYSE and AMEX you must not establish a position from IB with less than 100 shares. in case of partial fills -ie Island leaves you with 20 shares- you...
