Going long and short EUR/USD on two different broker accounts.

Wrong again! Instead of receiving 50 pips for a winning trade for instance, your broker gives you 48 pips only, and keeps 2 pips. So 2 pips were indeed SUBTRACTED from your winnings, whether you like it or not. It does not look that way because those 2 pips were subtracted from your account...

Going long and short EUR/USD on two different broker accounts.

If you say so. You still don't get it, do you? You always pay the spread, win or lose. Brokers collect the spread from the winners and from the losers. If the market moves 10 pips against you and you close the position, you lose 12 pips (10 + 2 pip spread). On the other hand, if the...

Going long and short EUR/USD on two different broker accounts.

Go back and read the post again... slowly this time. See where he wrote : "Contracts not options. So one account would catch the move in the direction the other account - going to zero." So this thread is not about options straddles, ok? Absolutely not, only Forex traders high on cocaine...

Going long and short EUR/USD on two different broker accounts.

Say that again?? You went long and short the EUR/USD at 1.2700. The EUR/USD is now at 1.3000 You lost 300 pips ($3,000 per standard lot) on the short side but you won 300 pips on the long side (excluding spread/commissions), so where on earth do you see a $6,000 profit on these two...

Going long and short EUR/USD on two different broker accounts.

Is this amateur night or what? You go long and short the Euro at let's say 1.2700 The EUR/USD goes to 1.3000 so you lost 300 pips on the short side, plus spread and/or commissions, but you "won" 300 pips on the long side, so you close the "losing" side of the trade and you keep the...

    Market is dead?

Here is the secret : do NOT trade dead markets, trade active, volatile financial instruments with solid volume and a wide average daily range (there are plenty of them everyday, stocks, Forex, commodities, you name it), that's it. Fish where the big fish are.

A successful trader does not lose money on any (and is not concerned about the outcome of any) particular trade, he is simply lending a few bucks to Mr. Market... at outrageous high rate of interest! :p
